After next week the ratings will start to paint a better picture of who will end up where but you can get an idea with these ratings and quick glance at schedules. I know twice as many teams make it in now but we could see Portsmouth, Ironton, Burg, Piketon, West, and Minford playing week 1 of playoffs plus everyone making playoffs outside of region 19 in our area. That puts a smile on my face as a fan of football in SEO. While making the playoffs may not mean as much now, we do get a shot at some pretty cool local matchups after the regular season ends.

Question?
Are there any byes in the playoffs this year?
Or does #1 play #16, #2 play #15, etc.

Last I heard there are no byes. There will be some huge blowouts week 1.

I think ridgewood will be the 1 seed, harvest prep 2 and ironton 3 after that who knows. I just want Portsmouth in a home game situation. Piketon is playing good, like above said I think week 5 will paint a better picture with Portsmouth gallia, burg and Jackson.

Or an unexpected shocker or upset or two.

Ridgewood will be interesting this season after losing QB Tingle again. No doubt they are more than one player, a fine program, but that does put a stinger in their hopes for a deep run. Harvest Prep & Ironton are both capable of handleing their own in playoffs. Piketon should secure a home playoff game with their schedule but curious to how their defense will play post-season I could see a loss in week 2 as of now. If Portsmouth goes 8-2 that should gurantee a home playoff game placing them around 4-8 seed. They keep heading in the direction theyre going we may very well see a couple playoff wins.

Great to hear! With a healthy Tingle they're my current favorite for the region.

Wonder if OHSAA will make a late season change with all the cancelled games. I know they’ve already changed from 8 games to now 5 games to make the playoffs. The 1 seed playing the 16 and so on games will make for some not so great games week one of the playoffs.

Dont think you can have byes with 16 teams without some teams having at least 2 byes and no way they're doing that.

I have seen some online discussion that the OHSAA may allow for make up games after week ten for non qualifiers or playoff elimination for others much like they did last year. Nothing official, but the need for revenue may make it happen. Just hope the cancellations become few and far between.
