If the Gallia game is cancelled, then this game ABSOLUTELY SHOULD BE PLAYED!!

For the following reasons:

1. It will be a game to fill the Gallia cancellation for PHS and Washington CH for Waverly.
2. If Portsmouth makes the top 8 of the DV playoffs, nobody will be better than Waverly in the first 2 rounds.
3. Portsmouth can probably go 8-2 or 7-3 and still be a top 8 playoff team.....just make the playoffs, first, though.
4. It will be a good test for an improved Trojan defense.
5. It will give Waverly an actual game look at a very good Trojan offense.
6. A big gate is guaranteed......2 undefeated teams on a good weather night (forecast looks good)
7. A win win for both schools.....whatever the result.

Waverly is the favorite in this game, but don't count the Trojans out!! GO TROJANS!!

Does anyone know the rule for cancelled OVC games? Will the Gallia game be made up or is it a forfeit?

Why would it not be at Waverly?
Portsmouth was supposed to be on the road and Waverly only had 4 home games on the schedule because of the Unioto game getting switched around.

Portsmouth head coach spent a couple years on wavery coaching staff so for that reason alone I could see this game happening in Gallia canceled.

Just lace them up and play.

Going to be a big game so that means get to waverly early

Do Portsmouth fans travel that well? But if smurray got the call, its official, they need him to be there.

This could possibly be a shoot-out!!! Two high powered offenses that's for sure.

Trojans HAVE to make some stops or this gets ugly. Might be 45-40 type game

Could be the last team with the ball wins this one.
Waverly was without two starting O-linemen for the scrimmage but now the oline is good and we’ve lost some significant defenders.
We may have a couple back since the bye week but I haven’t heard. I know one was a season ending injury. Also lost a WR to a season ender.

1 1/2 practices for this one - I doubt either team goes full contact tomorrow.

Since Portsmouth Gallia was a league game how will that effect them both for a run at the conference title

Think I will head to waverly and watch this one. Glad both teams are getting to play, and this looks to be the most exciting game this Friday. My guess is waverly takes this one 35-21. Should be fun to watch them go at it.

Glad the Trojans are playing. Will have to get after it on D to make it close..
Would have liked to have seen this game played at Portsmouth. Looking up past results, the Trojans traveled to Waverly the past two meetings, in 2014 and 15..

I will tell you why lol, waveryn eeded this game was more then portsmouth did , no way if I was Portsmouth I played this game at waverly plus only bad things can happen for Portsmouth, not only a loss, by playing up a couple divisions coukld very well decide if they play week 11 or sit home they still have a couple good teams to play on schedule 7 wins may not get you in and definetly not 2 home games who ever talkked this deal out at Portsmouth dropped the ball...with fans coming from other schools lets hope waverly dont have the melt down they did when burg came to town a few years ago,,,,,,,what a mess

Speaking of messes, your whole post was an absolute travesty. Portsmouth honestly could probably make the playoffs in their region going 6-4. Obviously the goal is much higher, to host a home playoff game. But this game makes sense. Prepares the Trojans for their 2 tougher opponents left (Fairland & Ironton) as well as the playoffs. Not to mention if they win this win will be a whole hell of a lot better than a win over a depleted GA team who may or may not play another game this season. (I’m sure they will, it was sarcasm).
