Week 9…Jackson @ Miami Trace

Post by Ironman92 »

Winner clinches at least a share of the FAC title. Jackson has rolled so far in the league and MT just keeps winning. Beat Chilly in OT and beat McClain 56-54. Huge playoffs points too.

I’m having trouble understanding giving up 54 to McClain but if we don’t take care of the ball and have too many penalties….we are game for an upset….BUT, I don’t see it. Jackson prepped themselves with great non-league games and competed well, now they are adding in plays, getting guys rest and adding to our depth by getting others big number snaps when it matters. FAC hasn’t shown the ability to stop our run and pass game. We’ve barely used Mastin in the league games and he’ll be primed and ready and so many weapons being used in offense.

If we take care of the ball and do t have numerous crustal penalties…..we’ll win. Our first quarters have been great of late….keep that going!

Man this is a big game for Jackson to help with 2nd level points, Miami Trace comes in really struggling on defense these last 4 games but the offense has been able to overcome and get the victory. I think Jackson has a defense that can slow this Miami Trace offense down enough to pull out the victory. Miami Trace does have some size up front and they have a really nice back and this could give Jackson some fits but I think you'll see them do just enough to pull this one out. Jackson by 2 scores.

Jackson sits at 2 in the region. Trace struggles on defense holding teams down. Jackson needs to self inflicting wounds and needs to hang 55 plus.

Turnovers need cleaned up for sure. Offense is coming along working on what needs work. I’m so glad wch had a good DLine because Granville won’t be easy to run on. Go ahead and put 8 in the box to stop the run. Jackson now has a passing attack. Like the first down throws! Stay healthy get healed up get ready!

On to the game.....go out punch them in the mouth from the first play of scrimmage and every play after. Don’t let up and win that share of the FAC!

Go Panthers!

But worried Jackson will be too much. Remember a time when it was just the reverse.

Here’s a comparison…

Both teams have recently played McClain and their good QB Braden Wright

Trace allowed Wright 11 carries for 164 yards and 4 TD and 14 of 19 passing for 300 yards and 2 TD

Jackson allowed Wright 10 carries for 4 yards and a TD and 5 for 15 passing with 1 TD and 1 INT

Think Jackson is too much for Trace - Winters kid has too many outlets. When was the last time the Ironmen passed the ball better than they run? Ever? Achilles heal for their team will be when they face a team like Hartley or DeSales that has the secondary athletes to cover their passing attack and then score every time they are sloppy and turn the ball over which from the sounds of it is a lot this year.

Bryce Hall had a pretty good arm. He didn’t really run it as much.

Those Catholics better be down on knees praying to Mary that they don’t draw the Ironmen. Come on down to Alumni Stadium and get ya some. They have never been hit as hard as they will. We have depth now and they won’t be scared!

We just need to use these next couple weeks to clean some things up. One week at a time

Jackson needs to clean up some of the pentalys and need to get there offensive line dialed in and move people around and make sure they can stay on blocks. I think that williams and johnson could be getting more reps on deffense and offense because they both played good last week and will improve they need to get prater and bragg more involed in the passing game. winters can throw and run the ball when needed his int he couldn't help he throw off his back foot and had a guy on him and couldn't see downfield overall jackson should win by 50 and keep putting jv in and hopefully get the top seed in the region or 2 and beat granville.

Should beat Miami Trace by 50? That’s lofty

A lot of kids are getting a lot of defensive reps

Remember an int sometimes is as good as a punt. Especially on third down. Especially when your qb can throw 60 yards.

Jackson 45 MT 21. I think the 3rd MT touchdown comes against Jacksons JV late in the game.
