Week 10 Waverly at Oak Hill

Post by smurray »

Waverly needs to remain focused and take care of business at Oak Hill. Control what you can control and get it done.

Tigers need to keep their minds on what they need to do and let the chips fall where they may. If the Tigers are focused, Waverly with a running clock the entire second half.

Waverly finally stopped playing to the level of the competition against Minford. Hopefully that continues this week and they can find the best again on offense.

Is Dawson Shoemaker all the way Back? Is Waverly expected to get anyone else back going forward?

Rough year for Oak Hill. I commend the players and coaches for hanging in there. Oaks probably not going to win but continue give the best and better days will come.

Every team has had injuries throughout the year, so this has had no bearing what so ever as to what kind of a year Oak Hill has had this year. I just happened to listen to their game against Portsmouth West this past Friday. I knew that their tailback had been out since the Valley game, but listening to the announcer's, they said that they were starting 3 freshmen, QB, running back, slot back, and a junior at fullback. The junior was hurt sometime during the game, ( Was taken during the game to the Hospital ) I'm not sure what kind of injury. Like I said, this is no excuse at all, as every team has had injuries throughout the year. Not only how many players, ( numbers ) but they are mostly playing JV players to finish out the season. From listening to the game, I know that at it was sometime late in third Qtr. and they had still not gained a first down, and I don't think they had positive yardage. West could have won 75-0 if they had chosen to do so.

No idea, a lot to be decided yet. Massie could possibly jump us. McNicholas could possibly lose week 10 and what does that do?
We are #4 right now which would give us first two rounds at home.

Using the week nine point totals, #4 Waverly would host #13
Washington(CH). It those rankings hold up after week ten, there would be some irony in that matchup.

As to Oak Hill, no injuries, fundamentals, and building depth should be Waverly's focus.

Covid will come back strong and they will look for another opponent . They will frame it as a replacement game in August of 2022.

In terms of talent, this might be the lowest level team athletically that Oak Hill has had in 15-20 years.

Agree completely. At the start of the season, I said I didn't see a win on their schedule, I was wrong, they got one.

I can see that and I also know that currently there's no help coming up in the Junior high level. Question is is the move to SOC2 play a direct link to this while in SOC1 I don't think you seen these type of down years from Oak Hill.

It’s going to be some potentially very lean years for Oak Hill. Then, they decided to schedule/beef up the non-conference schedule. You have to have to have the horses to compete. However, Oak Hill will have 8 teams on their schedule this year that’ll end up with a winning record. That’s ridiculous.
