Rock Hill Future

Post by REDMAN »

A,B,C team all going to the Super Bowl.

If they all stay together and Ironton stays away we have a bright future.

Rock Hill's future looks just like their past. Until they find a school board that will hire a good coach and not have the local dads on staff to make sure all of their kids get playing time, they will continue to be bad.

Might be true, but remember Pemberton was Irontons 3rd choice.

Bob Lutz wasn't Ironton's first choice either. They hired a guy by the name of Larry Coyer who resigned after one day to accept a job at Massillon. Then Burcham hired Lutz. Isn't it funny how when things change they remain the same.

Rock Hill has beautiful facilities and I hear they just may be planning on building an indoor practice facility. Their biggest problem right now is student enrollment. They just keep dropping in class. They don't have the numbers they used to have.

Rock Hill hasn't had a winning season since '07 or so. Their record the under current coach Lutz is 14-25 overall and 10-17 in league. Many Ironton fans were unhappy Ironton didn't hire him as head coach after Vass. I don't see a bright future at Rock Hill until they find a young, enthused coach, like Coach Pendleton, to give their kids a chance at winning again.

Winning Seasons at Rock Hill since 2000:

2002: 6-4
2003: 7-4 (playoffs)

2006: 6-4
2007: 7-4 (playoffs)
2015: 6-4 (playoffs)
2016: 6-4

The current staff at Rock Hill seems to be doing a good job. They’re competitive in the majority of their games since 2017.

2017: 4-6 (4 losses were decided by a touchdown or less)
2018: 3-7 (3 losses were decided by a touchdown or less)
2019: 3-7
2020: 3-5
2021: 3-5 (2 losses were decided by a touchdown or less)

I’m not speaking for Ironton fans but Coach Mark Lutz never applied for the Ironton job when the job became available. At that time he had already left his Ironton teaching job and went to Rock Hill. At that time he seemed very happy with his job there. I listened to his radio interview before this years Ironton job and he still seemed very happy with his job in the Rock Hill School district
