COACH OF THE YEAR

Post by fortdawg »

It has to be the guy from Cincy Oak Hills.
He led his team to the playoffs with a 0-10 record.
I've never seen that feat accomplished before!

Played Turpin pretty close and hung with Coldwater

I know D1 but still better than most around here I’d guess

Yeah, I hope the OHSAA move to 16 teams/region in playoffs is not permanent. I liked 12 teams, with top 4 teams getting a bye.*

While 8 seems like the best option I am intrigued by the idea of 12 teams with top 4 getting a bye. However, 16 is way too many after seeing how some brackets have played out.

I mean yeah I’m slightly intrigued by the idea of 12 but I’m not a huge fan of bye weeks though maybe they could do the top 10 😂

I dont like bye weeks either. Guess im a little biased to question 8 team playoffs now cause the Trojans would have missed playoffs this season by a SMALL margin lol They're a playoff team if you ask me.

Definitely agree and some years you get teams like that on the edge who should make it but don’t in a 8 team scenario but even then there are a lot of 1st round blowouts. Portsmouth lost to 3 teams that if you ask me have a very high chance of winning 2 games a piece in the playoffs

Their Head Coach led East Central (Ind) to a state title and runner-up. Was also the Coach of the Year there.

Wonder if he forgot how to coach? Or does having good players matter?

Also, the 16 team playoff thing is just a giant money. It’s a shame.

Making the playoffs definitely doesn’t feel like the same achievement it did in the past

Gullion from Piketon will get something. 9-0 this year from 4-4 last season.

It looks like football is a lot tougher in Ohio than Indiana to me. :)

That is true.
He also coaches at a school in a top tier conference where most of his talent goes to St. X, Elder, and LaSalle.

I don’t know the guy or much about the program, but they have never won.

The topic of the thread is silly and I felt it warranted the response.
