Carpenter has a broken ankle in several spots. Out at least 4 months. Don’t watch Ironton, but everyone said it looked bad and it was. Praying for this young man and Roe for a speedy recovery.

Carpenter is out, sorry for his injury and that he will miss the playoffs. Jon Wylie didn't practice all week but dressed last night just in case. He stepped in and did an outstanding job. He's very capable to lead the Tiger offense through the playoffs. Tigers defense will miss him as I doubt he plays much D unless needed.

Fact: it's his foot. He has broken bones in his foot and will have surgery this week unless things change. I got this from one of the coaches who would know. I hate it for him. He has to be very upset at his bad luck and I know Ironton will SURE miss him!

Wylie is a darned good athlete. I'll not get into who's better but I will say, MOST of those on here on SEOP from other schools wished they had him for their QB this year. All isn't lost at all. I feel Ironton has a darned great chance of winning Region 19. If you held a gun to my head, I'd say that Ridgewood is the team to beat to be Region 19 champions. If the Tigers win, would they be able to go further? let's not forget the Ironton '99 team. They came so close to winning it all that year. No one gave them a snow ball of a chance early on. As I said, so many posters here would have loved to have Wylie as their QB all year long

Either way, if The Tiger's win the Region, man, I'd be tickled to death. So many schools in the Region have never won a Regional Championship. I'd have to sit down a while and count up how many Ironton has. It's quite a few!

Qb2 beat burg, Jackson and fairland. That was the hardest part of the schedule beside moeller. What will kill Ironton is the penalties. The first half vs Portsmouth I lost count of how many they had but 2nd half they looked like Ohio state lol.

His mom had on Facebook this morning that he will be undergoing surgery tomorrow to repair the damage to his ankle. She said he has a great attitude and he is anxious to get back to rehab so he can get back out on the field next year.

Carpenters mother reported on Facebook the surgery went well. 6 to 8 weeks of non weight bearing and then rehab.
