Piketon 32 Coshocton 14 2021 Playoffs

Post by eagles73Taylor »

First ever home playoff game for the Redstreaks. The glowing village will be rocking this Saturday. 140 mile trip for Coshocton, about 2 and a half hours. I will check to see if we are going to open up the grass practice fields next to the school for additional parking. Looking forward to this contest, Lets Go Streaks!

Coshocton has steadily improved this year and have a few good athletic skill kids that can break it at any time. They can score points. Always tough kids with a really proud tradition. Not a passing team. QB is pretty athletic. Definitely more of a power running team. They like to run it right at you. Ran the Wing-T for years to perfection but are trying to slowly bring in some more spread looks. All that being said, they are VERY susceptible to giving up the big play and the D just really isn’t very good. I imagine the Streaks will not have any issue scoring points. If they get a few stops on defense they should win comfortably.

Coshocton not as good as most years. Piketon wins by 14.

Piketon is averaging nearly 46 points per game. I think that they keep pretty close to their average. Wouldn’t be surprised if this game ends up in Piketon’s favor by 3 or 4 scores. Coshocton puts up some points, too.

Coshocton's schedule

at West Lafayette Ridgewood Lost 51-0
vs Cambridge Lost 15-14
at Maysville Lost 23-14
vs McConnellsville Morgan Win 35-7
vs John Glenn Cancelled
at New Lexington Win 35-8
vs Crooksville Win 32-13
vs Byesville Meadowbrook Lost 42-21
vs West Muskingum Win 39-33
at River View Win 35-17

Coshocton strength of schedule is better than Piketon's. I look for this game to be nailbiter. I will go with Piketon 28-26.

Coshocton lost to Ridgewood 51-0.

This game is a measuring stick for Piketon.

I remember Coshocton 40 years ago going toe to toe with large schools in the old Cardinal Conference. Times and demographics change. Piketon 42- 27.

Can’t wait for this game, going to be pretty awesome seeing the Streaks play their first ever home playoff game. Don’t know much about Coshocton but after seeing a couple highlights of them it appears to me they like to run the ball. Hopefully the Redstreaks offense gets off to a quick start and the defense makes some stops early on. I think Piketon takes this one 35-21.

Safe travels to all the Coshocton fans making the 2 and a half hour trip to the village. Also recommend Ritchie’s Backyard BBQ for Redskin fans looking for some pregame grub. Fantastic pizza, burgers, wings, BBQ. Great place to catch some college football and grub before heading to the stadium.

Parking in the grass practice fields to west end of the school will be available. The parking lots closest to the field will fill up pretty quickly. Just drive past the main entrance and enter the fields from the road.

Hoping the weather cooperates, Lets Go Streaks!

8-8 in the 3rd quarter Coshocton has the ball 1-10 from the Piketon 36

Sloppy sloppy play by both teams, Coshocton offense doing just enough to keep the ball away from the Piketon offense.

End of the 3rd
tied at 8
Coshocton has had the ball since the 8:50 mark in the 3rd facing a 4th and 35, getting ready to punt. Piketon has had about 6-15 yard penalties in this game.

I watched the live stream tonight and was super impressed with what I saw from both programs. The kids played extremely hard but while showing the upmost respect to their opponents. Both programs should be proud of the character of their teams. Enjoyable game to watch.

This game was pretty tight most of the way through. Typically when you have an even game through 3 qtrs and another team pulls away in that fashion it’s a sign of fatigue. Great job by Piketon just continuing to grind and wearing the other team out and pulling away when it mattered. Years past this would have went the other way. Great win and good luck against CA. I think this is another winnable game.
