Not sure off the top of my head but I know that they expanded to 8 teams in 99 and in 2000 an 8 seed took a state title game to overtime. Not sure if any made noise in 99 or if one has actually won a title yet.

D3, Region 11 is the most competitive region in the state. If it's gonna happen 16. Watterson will have to beat 1. Granville.

No way Watterson beats Granville.

Yeah, it's a 16 vs 1. I said "if" it's gonna happen that's where it needs to be. And never say never, Granville is one bad Covid case away from losing star players.

I think the best chance this year is Danville over Newark Catholic.

I believe in division 1 region 4 moeller is playing a 0-10 team. It might of been a different region but saw a 0-10 team

It’s was hard for an 8 seed win over a 1. Let alone a 16. There is normally about 6 teams that are pretty good in a region. The fall off from 8 to 16 is a lot more then 1 to 8. No way a 16 seed does it.

No you are right. In Division 1 Region 1, St Edward is playing a 1 win team. I think the expanded playoffs and the 7 divisions may be too much.

When I was in high school, it was 5 divisions and 4 teams per region but I’m old.

D2, R7 -- #16 Olentangy vs #1 Big Walnut is very possible to be an upset on the seeds.

Hopefully not in R17. R17 could get good. We got 4 undefeated teams

I don't see it happening, but if I had to pick one, I will go with Edison over Bullevue in Region 14.

West was a 7th seed when they finished state runnerup.

i Dont think there will be any 16th seeds win. but i think there will be a lot of 9th 10th and 11th seeds win and this will lead to better round 2 games

The only way I see it happening is if the one seed is a smaller school who goes up against one of the Christian schools that is down but has played the bigger schools in the state and lost.

2019 Clyde Fliers from northwest Ohio won a state title in D-4 as an 8 seed. Entered the playoffs 6-4 and dominated through the playoffs.
