If the Great SEOAL expansion didn’t happen, these schools would still be together.
I was surprised when Marietta jumped ship right after Athens. I think most thought Athens would leave for 5 years and come back. Now Athens, Jackson, and Gallia are pretty happy in other leagues

I thought I had read where Athens was wanting to get in the TVC before the SEOAL went to 10 teams. Didn't Marietta's people come from the league they are in now and the plan was already in motion to leave the SEOAL? There were even people saying Logan was hunting around.

I’m sure Logan would be all for it but I doubt anyone besides Chillicothe or Jackson would want to drive to Logan every other year. Could be wrong though.

If the TVC invites Athens in 2007-08 they would have left with or without expansion IMO.

But the other 5 would have been able to stick together I think. But Marietta also had an AD at the time (2010 ish) who had come from the ECOL and was hellbent on going that direction so who knows.

Hearing Logan could be one of the teams talked about in a new league.

Fort Frye
Marietta
Warren
Logan
Point Pleasant
Ripley
Parkersburg South

I’ve been hearing the same thing. Definitely better than nothing.

These teams need each other it’s hard to find games with no league. This league would help come playoff time.

Agreed. Would be a competitive league for all schools involved I think. Finding 4 games a year is definitely easier than finding 10. The majority of these teams should give good second level points too.

From what I’m hearing 4 Ohio teams are in.

I don’t see why Point and Ripley wouldn’t join. Similar school sizes and competition levels. Not sure if PP is what they were 5-6 years ago, but still a very good program. South is the school I could see not joining but it also wouldn’t surprise me if they came on board either.

It would help south with travel so much. Ripley and Point don’t have a league either.

Regardless of what the WV schools decide. Couldn’t those 4 Ohio schools start their own league? Having games locked up for weeks 8-10 would be better than nothing.

That is totally true. I’m hearing Ripley and Point are super interested.

I haven't heard about this possibility but would welcome that kind of set up. Logan has been a league with three of those teams before.

Parkersburg South has always been a natural possible league partner IMO - as long as you can get over the different state issue which can sometimes affect postseason stuff.
