Thoughts ?

Ironmen should reload for another run in 2022.

Jackson should reload with what they have coming back they've got some big shoes to fill on some of the seniors they just lost though.

Oh yeah. Always losing kids and teams strengths change from year to year. Jackson does a good job of having kids ready to play varsity football when it’s their time.

Jackson still has that fast back and a great QB. I think they will take a step back defensively but should have enough offensive power to be a threat.

Agree 100, defense will be young but fast. Offensive will be one of if not the best in the area

Have they been able to schedule a game on Sept 2 (week 3)?

Curious about that myself. With Ironton , Burg , and western Brown definitely a challenging early schedule.

Two fast backs. Wolford and Broermann

Both very good

Wolford 4.53
Broermann 4.80

Doesn’t mean they aren’t both fast on plays or making the run….but Wolford is really fast. Both could be 1000 backs next year. Johnson the sophomore is very good too.

I agree.

Winters
Wolford
Broeman
Bo Landrum
Jake Wood
Nolan Johnson

Pretty good start for a core group of athletes to touch the ball.

There is an offer on the table for Jackson to play Tri-Valley week 3 in 2022 (at TV) and 2023 (at Jackson). Tri-Valley plays Columbus DeSales and Licking Heights in non-league (3 non league and 7 MVL games). Tri-Valley will be good, but not great the next few years. Should make playoffs and top 2 or 3 in the MVL big school yearly.

Not a big fan of 16 teams per region making the playoffs, but with so many getting in it is a lot easier to have a tough schedule and still get in playoffs with a good team.

Also heard Fort Frye mentioned. Much smaller but a very good team.

I think the offense will be solid with good amount of players returning. The defensive may not be as good but if you can find 11 guys to fly around and attack the ball you’ll be pretty solid on defense. And Jackson usually seems to be able to do that.

Jackson will have 11 hard nosed kids who know how to hit and tackle and play the game. The tricky part is fitting the puzzle pieces together.

It looks like Tri-Valley is hosting Zanesville that week. it looks like Portsmouth has an opening.

That is correct. And I think the staff has done a pretty good job in recent years when it comes to finding guys roles that you wouldn’t normally think about. You are always gonna have your guys with the hype around them but when you can find roles for kids and get multiple kids contributing that’s when you’re at your best in my opinion.

Been following them for 6/7yrs now. FF is the real deal and not scared to play anyone. I like a showdown with them. They are masters of the little things.

Zanesville is traveling to Fort Frye week 3 of 2022. See the Fort Frye thread on this site.

Jackson is traveling to Tri-Valley (Dresden) week 3 of 2022.

I know arbiterlive has Zanesville playing at Tri-Valley week 3, but it is not updated as of this moment. That series is ending after 10 years. Off the top of my head I think TV won 6 times, Zanesville 3 times and Zanesville cancelled in 2021 due to covid (and it would have been a TV win).
