Enrollment Data

Post by 4thgoal »

The preliminary enrollment data is now posted on https://www.ohsaa.org/school-resources/ ... enrollment. Of course, until we see the CB numbers, nothing will be certain.

I’m very shocked by River Valley’s numbers. Hopefully their new football coach can bring some numbers out to play football. I know they struggled with numbers last year.

4th goal: Thanks for posting. Some more local numbers:

SOC II
Burg 181
Waverly 240
West 160
Minford 167
Valley 122
Oak Hill 147

SOC I
Northwest 160
Symmes Valley 94
Notre Dame 48
South Gallia 75
East 41
Green 65
Eastern 109

Other schools of interest
Ironton 183
Portsmouth 171
Jackson 277
Kirtland 137
Coldwater 171
Versailles 141

Most interesting to me is that Kirtland and Versailles look lower than expected (D6?). However, looks like Coldwater may be back up to D5. Also locally, Notre Dame now has more students than East, New Boston and Clay. Finally, Burg/Ironton, for all of the arguing on here, are again about the same in number of actual boys in the school. Competitive balance numbers will be interesting, though*

You have to keep in mind, we had been working to the 2018 numbers. Because of the pandemic, they didn't take the normal count in 2020 and carried the base numbers through 2021 as well.

Good point. That probably explains the schools with big changes, whether higher or lower.*

It will be close. We should be around 122 with competitive balance.

Looks like valley will stay d6 for now I was wishing they dropped the d7 where they could compete more

Last year's cutoff for D7 was 121

D7 is just as tough tbh. Marion Local and the private schools.

Yeah it’s very top heavy but they would still do better than being one of the smallest schools possible in d6 the cut off is 122 and they have 122 kids

As Fort Frye fan and being towards the bottom of D6 as well I think it’s easier to win a title in D6 than D7.

Looking at numbers at tons of teams are leaving div. Could have Ridgewood, Bellaire , Martins Ferry , Garaway , Tusky Valley and Portsmouth West all joining 23. Also Kirtland is at 130 before competitive balance so they might be D6. D5 might become the easiest Div.

Is this the first time NY is smaller than Trimble?

It’s not like valley is ever going to win a state title no matter what division but they could at least win some games in d7

would still be nice to make the final four which is definitely possible with Valley's historical success

Good news is that Paint Valley looks to be in D7, and this years team will compare pretty favorably to any D7 team outside the MAC. Bad news is that we will probably be placed in the same region as Marion Local, St. Hank and New Bremen.
