With all the new recruits coming to town I think the numbers will change between now and may. 🤣

The enrollment number is the number of students grades 9-11 (boys and girls separately) on October 31, 2021. It is the number turned into ODE by schools for school funding. The numbers for most district should NOT change. They have until this Friday to appeal if they think a mistake was made.

Bumpy wrote: Thu Feb 24, 2022 2:57 pm Good news is that Paint Valley looks to be in D7, and this years team will compare pretty favorably to any D7 team outside the MAC. Bad news is that we will probably be placed in the same region as Marion Local, St. Hank and New Bremen.
I did some quick figuring using the last set of CB numbers (CB numbers vary year to year) and does look like PV will probably be D7. I have Trimble moving up to 6 and Nelsonville York and Lucasville Valley in D6 also. I have Fairland going to D5 and Wheelersburg going to D4 but just barely so actually they may end up in D5. Again just used the last CB numbers to adjust enrollment.
Plus the OHSAA has not decided how it is going to handle D1- Stay at 72 or increase to 80 or so. What the OHSAA decides to do with D1 could have an effect with the other Divisions. We will just have to wait til June.

This is gonna be interesting. The cutoffs are gonna make a big difference this year. And possibly if the OHSAA decides to split up D1 more.

Fairland took a large jump. They will be D5

Depending on where their CB numbers come in Wheelersburg and Ironton could be moving up to D4

West right now would be D6 depending on where the CB number comes in. Either way West will probably be D6 for the foreseeable future.

They will just adjust the numbers. I doubt they shift the teams. I can foresee burg eventually being in d4 in the future. There’s a surge in house growth

West in D6 could be real interesting over next 3 years.*

Correct, it all depends on where the cutoffs are. Last year the fall sports divisions were announced on 4/22, so we will know soon.

So what exactly does the classification of A, AA, or AAA mean?

When the numbers were posted Ironton was at 183 and Wheelersburg was at 181

Now Ironton is at 177 and Wheelersburg is 176

These are the numbers when school started in the fall? What if a player transfers out after school starts? What are the rules to this? How could a count be off 5 and 6 boys?

Using the numbers posted on page 1 of this thread I compared the numbers from the first count to the second and Ironton and Wheelersburg were the only two I found that had changed fwiw.

Looks like VC & Athens Division 3. Meigs, Alex and RV could be Division 4 or 5. Wellston Division 5 and NY Division 6.
