Vinton County Vikings 2022

Post by Union Local Kid »

How does coach Carper and company fair in year number two? Lost a good amount of talent last year and I guess most will expect a down year. Ready and... Go!

VC lost some great seniors from last year. I think the underclassmen will be ready to step up. 6 wins last year. I expect that number to improve this year.

From what I been seein and hearin of workouts out at Zaleski thses Vikings are ready to pillage and plunder villages all over SE Ohio. I expect 10-0 and I dont see them getting anything less than 2 playoff wins from games they host in McArthur.

I'm sure people appreciate your whit as well. Though you forgot to add in the beer and brick walls so I'm a little disappointed... ;)

It is good to see all of that. I expect more of a 5-7 win season with fundamentals ever improving. A lot of good kids graduated so to me they're harder to figure out. The seniors will have to step up with much larger roles and it'll be interesting to see how the upcoming juniors have progressed from their successes of last year.

They have something to build on. Hopefully they can do it.

Definitely! I feel like the program is moving in the right direction. Hoping one day we can get the ironmen back on the schedule if we can get back to that level.

Any way of knowing if the numbers are up or down?
How was the JV team in 2021?
Will any of those players be ready for Friday Nights this season?
Goos luck V.C. get back to where you were back when I watched you trounce Watkins Memorial at their place a long time ago.

Numbers seem to be steady in the 50-60 range. Definitely have some younger kids ready to step up. We may be a ways away from the 90’s teams but this could be the best season since 04 IMO.

The schedule is definitely in favor for the vikes. With the pick up of Rock Hill in non league and the tvc being down as bad as i can remember, VC should win 8 or more games.

8-2 would be great. Would tie for the 3rd most wins in school history and probably put VC at home in week 11.

Lot of hype in the VC community surrounding this year's group. Hope the hype is real.

We think it is. Hype doesn’t matter unless you produce though, so it really doesn’t matter at this point. We just know things are happening and they all seem to be positive.
