Logan has improved this year, not been getting blown out

This matchup always seems to feel like a trap game for whoever appears to be the better team. Always very low scoring too. I'll take Chillicothe in another defensive slugfest, 20-12.

Chieftains will honor past SEOAL champions Friday night. Should be a decent crowd with the weather looking good. Chilly brings in a ton of talent that will be a tall test for Logan. Saw them for the second time in person last week and again I am just not a fan of the offense. Defense looked better and the kids continue to play hard but alot of missed tackles in space and that will need to be better this week. The offense is lethargic and the same 5 plays get called time and time again. Logan ran a PA flag route that was wide open behind the D and the ball was under thrown. Never went back to it. They ran a misdirection line blocking assignment that pulled two away from the action allowing for a roll out to that side and it was blown up bc the LB had nobody to block him and it gave Warren a huge sack for loss. ??? Uhhh what? Just didnt make sense. The double hand off scored on a long run and it was called probably 6 more times to not much success. With no threat of a passing attack it makes us too predictable and vulnerable to run blitzes and other elements to stop the rushing attack imo. They will need to score some points this week.

Logan will have to sustain drives to be competitive against Chilli. Two big runs vs Warren and that was 85-90 percent of their offensive production.

I do think that Logan is starting to improve little by little each and every game. I also agree with a couple earlier posters, that maybe they are a little too predicable, especially with a lot of their play calling. I do think that for this game that Chillicothe might just be a little too much for the Chieftains. Let's hope for an injury free game for both teams.

What happens to the QBs that come up through the lower grades? Seems like Logan never has a true QB. Seems like the lower coaches could get a boy with good size and arm to work on that person to be a future varsity QB.

I think that all depends on what your definition of blown out, is it 21 or 28 and more?? Chillicothe takes this by 3 scores

Until Logan shows consistency week to week... Chili by 21.

Logan Grad is correct. The open field tackling has to be cleaned up. Lots of arm tackling and players coming in with they're heads down. Too many would be TFL's being able to make positive yardage. Offensively we need to be less predicable. Throw some quick slant behind the LBs. Lord know they are looking for a double handoff. :? Do some thing.

There are some very talented young quarterbacks coming up the pipe right now. The question is will the coaches use them or just have them hand off the ball.

FWIW - When Eddy coached at Gallipolis he was straight wing-t the first couple of years. Then when he got Wade Jarrell at quarterback they went to more of a shotgun wing-t and Jarrell broke all the school records for passing yards.

They also won the SEOAL and won a first round playoff game throwing it around a lot. It's one of the things the staff likes about the offense - the ability to adapt to personnel.

The OC also coached at Ada from 2008-2013 when they were consistently making the regional finals using an air raid offense.

So neither are strangers to using arm talent when they have it.

So if history is any indication, they'll use the abilities of the young guns.

I think the end result of Logan's scores other than Jackson, havent been a good reflection on where they were. Logan was tied with Sheridan 7-7 at half and only trailed TV 10-7 with like 6 mins to go in that game. And then last week it was a tight one the whole way. I would argue that Jackson was the only game to date that the Chiefs were out of it from the outset. I think Jackson led 14-0 in the first 5 mins. The Cavs are avg 28 ppg and giving up 18 ppg and Logan is only scoring 9.75 ppg and giving up 23.5 ppg. Logan's offense has to find a way to score points this week. Tayvion Galloway, for Chillicothe is perhaps Chillicothe’s highest-profiled players since committing to LSU back in late July. He's a stud at tight end for the Cavaliers, and his size is bound to be a major factor. Galloway stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 230 pounds. He’ll be difficult for any defender to get a hold on, and even harder to take down. Logan will need to be better on Defense and tackling as previously stated.
