Only Ironton will have more to lose with a key player getting injured.
16 is way to many 8 was just fine.
What’s the difference?

I mean you could lose a guy early in the season lose 3-4 games and be eliminated with 8 teams. Then the player comes back and you have no chance to prove you’re the better team. I like 16. I like football I want the games decided on the field. Losing a player in a 16-1 match it’s a lame excuse to not expand. You could lose a player week 10 just as much as you can week 11. Last year 16 seeds won.

Yuck.

You really want 10-0 teams not making it? Let’s decide it on the field not by computers.

I couldn’t agree more.

Some of the best Jackson Teams ever put on the field were
9-1, 8-2 teams that finished 5th place by mere fractions of a point sooooooooo many times.

Harbin points are flawed by letting 16 in you have a better chance of the best team advancing. How many times did Bishop Ready finish 9 or 10 and not get to participate in the playoffs. They had one of the best teams every year but also faced the best schedule every year. Again I say we decide it on the field not by computers.

Wrong.

The coaches voted for 12. That is how it went from 8 to 12 the first time. The coaches association actually proposed to the OHSAA and it was accepted.

Yea but before they went from 12-16 they surveyed the coaches and that’s what coaches said. Coaches don’t want a bye they’d rather play.

Last year there were many 9-16 seeds that won across the state in week 11. That should tell you everything you need to know. Honing in on the 1 vs 16 matchups is the wrong way to look at it when there are a ton of very good matchups elsewhere.

Exactly 16 is so much more fun.
