Wheelersburg 2023

Post by Bdog_198807 »

Very good season this year for a "Down" Burg team. Who are some key starters returning next year? And what is your predictions for this team?

Burg will be very young next year, especially at the skill positions. Look for a lot of Sophomore's to be playing as that is the next big class coming up.

It wasn't a down year. It was a typical burg year of football. Burg has high expectations and will get the most out of their kids. They usually win 75% of their games and make playoff runs. They played very well this year. Was in every ballgame, and could of still been playing. As a fan, you can't ask for anything more.

Burg will not be young in the skilled positions other than QB. A lot of juniors play but didn't get as many touches because of the seniors.

I like next years team makeup so far but it's way too early to look at it now. Time to enjoy the other sports.

I'm a burg fan. I was saying down just because it seems like alot of people were saying they weren't going too be as good as they usually are. I'm from wheelersburg definitely wasn't trying to knock them.

Who said they weren't going to be as good as they normally are? I haven't seen that posted anywhere.

This senior group was extremely hyped coming through junior high. They went to state last year and returned plenty of guys this season. Nobody with a brain was saying it would be a "down year."

I think that's why he put quotes around "down" They basically fielded the same team as last year.

Back to back 7-3 seasons, and didn’t win the SOC this year. By Burg standards, these are down years.

As for next year, I’ve heard the team will be very good. Much more dynamic on offense.

West wanted it more than burg this year. Got to give them credit. I thought burg was really good this year. Was in every game and could of won their losses with a few if’s and buts. Didn’t get blown out in any game. They were a few missing pieces from being really great. They should be as good next year. Better is yet to be seen. But they will be prepared well.

Wheelersburg lost some really good players. A bunch of them. Most 2 and 3 year starters on good teams. They will not be as good next year.

I've heard very good things about the QB in that class, was able to watch him as a young player years ago and he was running around everyone with ease lol had a good arm too for that age (either 6th or 7th grade)

They will be as good, if not better. I am worried about QB position though. In experienced but very talented

He is talented. But when they put him in varsity games this year it was obvious he isn’t ready. He will improve but not enough in one season to overcome what they lost on the line, 2 Lattimores, Glover, and Arthur. Those are really good players.

Yes but there are kids ready to step up. Plus. He will be a sophomore. He may go through early growing pains.

As a freshman I wouldn't expect him to be ready, but the natural talent is definitely there. The losses you mentioned will definitely hurt as they we're great players who had huge impacts, but one thing I will never do is doubt Burg's ability to reload lol seems like someone always steps up one way or another.

That class has lots of talent outside of just the QB. WRs and RB are very good as well. Anyone who thinks Burg will be down next year will be very surprised.
