Coach Elder did a phenomenal job for us at Moeller. We wish him well in his future!

This is not the job for Pendleton,he's not proven he could coach at this level or even at the level he is at without a unlevel playing field ,Hate if you want but it's the Truth !

No way a program like this is throwing 6 figures at a guy like this !

The guy has coached in the same amount of State Championships in last 5 years as schools from Lawrence, Scioto,pike, Jackson and Gallia Counties have combined. I think he’s proven that he can build a winner. Ironton was losing OVC games and would be similar to Portsmouth right now if it weren’t for him. His resume right now 5 years in is better than coaching icon Bob Lutz. Lutz was just ranked one of the greatest High School coaches in history. The hatred you have spilled on this site for Ironton and Coach Pendelton almost looks personal. Not a good look for you Pinhole.

Moller is definitely a step up. But with all the $$$ they have why in the world doesn’t Moller have their own football stadium? Ironton probably doesn’t have much on Moller but Ironton definitely has a better gameday atmosphere. It would be odd playing 4 years of high school football and never playing a true home game.

The school is landlocked and located in a nicer area. Difficult to obtain the land.

Moller has the money to buy land off campus and build a nice facility just like they’ve done with their athletic programs and their fields. Heck Moller literally just bulit their baseball a new stadium with field turf.

Elder started building the Pit in the 1930’s, not finishing until the late 1940’s. Students actually helped build it.

Moeller didn’t exist at that time; school didn’t open until the 60’s. And while Elder is landlocked, the land around it is cheap (Price Hill is not a nice place). Land around Moeller is far more expensive. Not homes that would just be given away.

Btw, the baseball stadium is almost 5 miles away from the school. And the land the stadium was built on? Those 30 acres were donated.

Correct. While Moeller has coin, they don’t have enough of it to make the on-campus football field possible. And while they certainly have the ability to get enough money together to do all of the steps necessary in making it happen, it just doesn’t make much sense from an accounting or a long-term planning perspective.

I suspect they’ll eventually try to find a permanent home in Blue Ash. Or anywhere west of I-71, for that matter.
