What is the “Other” BIG NEWS coming from Ironton?

Post by XandOs »

A post on Social Media stating that The Classic wouldn’t be the biggest event on the schedule. Does anyone have any info on what else they are planning to do? Coach Pendelton seems to always have creative ideas on how to push the program forward.

I had thought schedule was set. Wheelersburg, Jackson, Cabell, plus 7 OVC. Cabell would be a nice add, but not exactly big news. Not sure.

Maybe playing a traditional state power like Kirtland, a MAC school, or something like that?

Are they going to a big 7 on 7 event or hosting a regional one of their own?

If it is about Cabell Midland, that’s really not big news. Them adding someone like Kirtland would be big news!

Seems like the upcoming announcement has everyone guessing. Personally I think it will be facility related.

I think it’s Ironton hosting a 7 on 7 tournament.
That would be cool give the kids something to play for.

Given what Ironton has done scheduling wise, and what they have already put together for their 7-7 groups and the colleges they attend to compete. I think a facility would be the only thing that would make sense, are they going to break the mold in that category for this area?? It wouldn't shock me

Indoor training facility by where the Ironton pool used to be is my guess. 😁

I’m also hearing Ironton vs Midland at Joan C. Edwards Stadium @ Marshall University.

Keep on hating on Coach Pendleton-man puts in hours upon hours for his players and community. You all just keep a fire burning in him.

It’s really just one fan base. They have poked the bear. The years of them selling their rhetoric in Southern Ohio has ended and kids and families no longer seem to flock to Wheelersburg (Well thats at least what I have read on here from the pirate fan base) . Coach P has really put a hurting on the boys sports in Pirate land. That’s why you see so much hatred. They really are having a difficult time playing 2nd fiddle. They got their taste of superiority around 2012-2018 and it’s been tough sledding ever since.
