2023 TVC-Ohio

Post by Dundas »

Predictions?

NY has been the consistent contender.

VC has been close.

Athens, Meigs, Alex have been mid pack recently.

RV and Wellson look to improve.

Also, the TVC voted no on a RV move to the Hocking. Any chance that gets the go ahead or will the raiders move to the soc?

This year could be NYs best team since 2017. Offense and defesne will be very fast. The line will be improved as well.

Returning starters for 2023
QB Mahki Williams (SR)
TB/LB Gavin Richards (SR)
TB/DB Tommy Mitchell (SR)
FB/DE Reiston Richards (SR)
WR/DB Bailey Phillips (SR)
WR/DB Landon Inman (JR)
WR/DB Alec Thompson (SO)
LB Jacob Jones (SR)
T/DT Jayden Woodgeard (SR)
DT Caleb Layton (SO)
T Will Odenthal (SO)
C Brennan Tomlin (Jr)
K Ben Perry (Jr)

May have missed someone. I expect good years out of Sophomores Austin Gautier and Dakota Cunningham as well. I’m sure other younger guys will step up as well.

As for the rest of the league: I imagine Vintons trip to Boston Field week 9 will be for the title. Athens I think is getting to where it needs to be. Can Alexander build off a good year? Meigs seems to have some athletes. Not really sure about Wellston… unfortunate to see where the program is now compared to where it was just a few years ago. As for River Valley.. no idea, for the kids sake I hope the program can improve.

Should be another good year. Four more months.

It’s ny until someone can challenge them for it.
I feel vc is getting close but going to ny and having to win is a lot.
Athens should be better from what I saw last year.
Then it’s bad from there.
Good luck to everyone could be a fun year at the top.
Tvc getting back to that 90’s feel of ny or vc

Why are you so scared of RV? We chalk it up to an easy win. You can never have too many easy wins. We hope RV sticks around forever.

I think River Valley holds out to leave with Southern and Eastern. There is rumors of the SVAC making a comeback

The SVAC at the very end in 1991-92, was NG, SW, KC and HT (4 schools that formed RV), Southern, Eastern, Oak Hill and Symmes Valley.

Would be interesting to see what a 2024 SVAC would look like??

?

Eastern
Southern
Oak hill
Symmes Valley
River Valley
South Gallia

Could keep oak hill and Symmes out and add to the west.

Eastern
Southern
River Valley
South Gallia
Belpre
Waterford

Take out Belpre and Waterford

Insert Hannah and Fed Hock and you have a good shot at getting this going

This topic deserves its own thread, but as crazy as this idea sounds there is some merit to it. I know Hocking schools are having to schedule games very far away with Federal Hocking not having football and with South Gallia gone that leaves only 5 conference teams in football, with Belpre cutting it very close to making it 4. Southern/Eastern basically have two options: go independent for football and try to get a scheduling agreement with the SOC, or get River Valley, South Gallia, Oak Hill, and Symmes Valley all back together and look at adding a couple more teams in the future

Southern has wanted this for years. They wanted Wahama out and so did Eastern. Neither of them could beat them in football and it drove Southern nuts when they would be in a position to win the league in basketball only to lose at Wahama. They would also like to get away from Trimble. But they didn’t want SG to leave because they can beat them in everything most years. They should have tried to keep Wahama and they would have 6 teams in football now. Now they’re looking for somewhere to scurry to. Thank your school leaders for the mess you’re in fellas. They shouldn’t have been so selfish minded.

As far as the TVC Ohio it is NY, and then everyone else. We’re back to the way it was in the 2004ish to 2012ish era with NY being dominant. Athens is back to being Athens which is, mid pack is a good year for them. VC will give it a go early but then lose to NY. Those that make the playoffs won’t get very deep, other than maybe NY but they won’t get out of the region.

Kinda surprised the conference President hasn’t pulled the trigger on that. He ran off Wahama because his chili
Couldn’t beat them and I figured Trimble would be next. Must be a sweetheart deal keeping them in place

If Belpre doesn't show some promise with getting numbers up, you will probably see everyone but Trimble leave and the Hocking will be no more
