How does Waverly look this year? Believe they have a really good back but don’t know much about the team overall.

Burg has a major advantage in this one and that's in the trenches and that's where games are won and lost at. I don't believe Burgs offense to be anything special but defensively they are going to be a handful for the Waverly line. Burg also with extra time to prepare for this one have to say Burg at home by 3 scores.

Only way Waverly wins is if they feed Hurd the football and Kelly can deliver on some throws. Cannot have the performance against West and be anywhere near where the score was in that one. I believe Burgs defense will smother Waverly and the line play on both sides will have to step it up if Waverly will pull off the upset

Burg unless Waverly can make throws early to open up the run game some for Herd. Can’t be one demintjonal against the Pirates

Waverly is a good football team. I saw that in their earlier scrimmage against Ironton. I'm told Ironton already had their offense installed in spring, not sure if that's allowed but you can't go on how Ironton fared against them. Waverly will be a tough out for burg.

Burg stays with the spread and keeps turning it over this games a toss up

Ironton did have the offense already installed, as long as you're labeling the right way it's a loophole, they're using that teams up north do as well. So, in this case Ironton was calling it 2023 Spring Evaluation, May 18th spring practice, May 22nd spring practice and May 24th 7-7 at Lakota West.

Perhaps that’s why all of their other boys sports suffer.

Rain may play a factor in this one, looks like there is a slight chance of showers on Friday. Too early to tell, but if it does rain some I think that may benefit Wheelersburg slightly because it may force them to run the ball more which I think is what they are best at at this point. And the rain could make Waverly one dimensional which is not good for them, think they need to be able to pass the ball respectfully in this one. But we will see what the weather is looking like closer to Friday.

This one sparked alot of interest.....

Tigers will be without the 2 starters who missed last week. Possibly others out as well.
Looks like a high of 73 and sunny tomorrow. Upper 60's at kickoff.
