Will burg commit to the run and let the spread go vs the teams they can't matchup with?
Seemed like there was a little less of it against Minford and Waverly…a little more spread stuff against Waverly but overall it seemed less of a feature in the offense the last two games.
If Burg is willing to commit to the run game. Slow the pace. With their defense they can make a run.
I agree…I still think ironton is the favorite and if the tigers and prep play again I really think it would be worse than last year. I’d really like to see Burg vs ironton again, not because I “know” we’d win a rematch or anything but because I think it would be another great game. Can’t wait to see how it all shakes out

Ironton Burg game at the first game of the year is a tough match up neither knows what to expect.
and both will build of it.
But you can throw that game out the window because both as evolved from game one

Ironton would have to be the favorite vs burg. Loss in playoffs a few yrs back was on Irontons coach. Other than that game irontons kids have just outplayed the burg kids. Might be getting in burgs kids and coaches heads

I wish the Ironton Burg game moved to about week 4 or so.

Be a better gage for both teams.
2 weeks of practice and then a game against a rivalry game don't tell you nothing

I’ll have to change my prediction after tonight. I’d make Prep a slight favorite over Burg for the region. Don’t know what to think of Ironton. Silly mistakes, pre snap penalties, soft O-line, and an offensive scheme that looks like plays are being called by throwing darts at the playbook. Still the most talented team in the region but anyone with a good D-line and above average run game will beat them. I’d like to write it off to youth since they only start 4 or 5 seniors but after a full season that’s really not an excuse.

McNick isn’t beating Badin.
Almost pulled it off 😂

Burg is playing really good football on both sides of the ball right now. They can run about 5 different guys at you and Rucker can still throw it when needed.

Burg's defense has been stout. Going to be a tough region to get out of and it all starts next week with everyone 0-0.

If ironton doesn’t fix everything they won’t make it out of the region. I like burg or harvest prep to take region 19. Columbus academy seems to be pretty good as well.

Burg will be the 7 and West 8 based on the Northwest win over Oak Hill. Had the Oaks won West would have been the 7 as Burg did not play OH. Fairland will be 2 which sets up a possible 2nd round game with Burg

Barnesville will pass Harvest Prep at the 3 seed if 6-2 River defeats 1-8 Frontier so seems likely

Looking like a possible rematch with Portsmouth vs Fairland in the first round. Portsmouth made it an interesting match last time. But, for some reason, went away from their offensive game plan in the third quarter against the dragons.

Love all of the praise for Burg but time for a reality check. Burg is #7 in the region and has lost to IHS and HP this year, two of the top teams in the region. Although Burg is playing well right now, they have a lot of work to do in order to get to the regional final. Will have to exorcise some of their demons along the way.

For what it’s worth, Wheelersburg has a strength of schedule as 20 out of 106 in division five. Ironton comes in with a 24 harvest prep was 28th SOS

Just as an observer, I believe Wheelersburg is playing better football now than they were at the beginning of the year. I think they found their identity on offense .

Don’t sleep on Fairland. They are playing good football right now. They won’t be an easy out for anyone in the region.
