Granville 32 Tri-Valley 29

Post by teach1coach2 »

Tri-Valley let one get away. Two very good teams. Great game if you had no dawg in the fight (but I certainly did).

Tri-Valley up 21-11 at the half. Tri-Valley had the ball 3 times in the first half and scored a touch down each time. Mostly running yards but some passiing yards. Granville had drives but Tri-Valley forced a FG and a couple punts. The one drive that ended with a TD had a horrible helmet to helmet call. QB for Granville fumbles and he and a defensive player for TV both dive for the ball and helmets hit. Granville got the ball and TV called for a helmet which changed a long 3rd down to a 1st down in the red zone. TV did get an interception in the endzone just before half ended.

The second half TV got the ball first and drove the field. In the red zone and ready to go from up 10 to up 17, but Granville picked off a pass across the middle and ran it back to the other red zone. A few pass plays later they scored. TV up 21-18. Then TV got the ball and a couple first downs before a receiver fumbled. Granville threw a few passes then TD. Granville 25-21. Granville was loading the box and tempting TV to throw. Next TV drive Granville forces a punt. Granville drives and on 4th and 2 from about the 40 they went jumbo and threw long to the only receiver with reception to the 2. Then Granville TD. Granville up 32-21 with 6 minutes left. TV drove and scored a TD with 3 minutes. Granville got the short squib kick and ran out the clock as Tri-Valley used there 3 times out but could not get a stop. Final Granville 32-29.

Turnovers cost TV the game. But Granville is very good. Just very one dimensional with the pass.
