What/how many starters return for next season?
They lost to every good team lmao
They are showing “class” by congratulating Burg. Remember your comments earlier about the lack of it on this site?

But you are right, Burg lost to every good team except McNich. And this has been their MO for the past 4+ years.

Burg D was solid but the O had issues from game 1 that were never resolved. If Burg doesn’t figure out their O, they will continue their unprecedented bad run of four loss seasons.

I'm just making a point. Keep seeing burg fans say "we got better every week" and there is NOTHING to stipulate that in the results. They did not get better every week. Much like Ironton this season, they hit a wall early in the season and then devolved.

Skill personnel wise next yr and huge oline(if you can keep them on the field) would dictate a you should have a power run first offense. Have a legit qb competition in the summer and let the best player win the job like happened in 2017. Qb will have to be tough and good runner who is willing to run

I can be classy without lying and making a mockery of Burg by skirting the facts but respectfully, Burg in the last 2 seasons

Vs Ironton 0 - 2
Vs Jackson 0 - 2
Vs West 1 - 1
Vs Prep 0 - 4

They cannot beat the best teams in their region and furthermore, when you have only won the region 3 times in 25 PLUS seasons, where is the so called "improvement" and "dominance?" It's simply not true. Doesn't matter how we feel about it. In football, Burg is Fairland disguised in Irontons colors.

Vs the best teams they play: Ironton, Jackson, west and Prep, in the last 2 seasons, Burg is 1 - 9. One and 9. 1 win and 9 losses and this program has only won the region 3 times in the last 25 years. They are not a seo powerhouse. They are just not. They are an average seo team.

Anybody saying "burg gets better every week" is a liar. It's empty platitudes. You don't go 1 and 9 vs the best teams you play in your own region if you are 1 and 9 vs those teams in your last 2 seasons you are not "getting better."

And you are NOT a powerhouse program in ANY region when you have ONLY won that region 3 times in over 25 years.

Facts are facts.

You’re tossing a bunch of random stats together and coming to a faulty conclusion.

In the past five years, Burg has performed below average compared to their own historical results, but even in those five years, they were still not an average SEO team given that they won three conference titles and finished second twice. Only Ironton has done better in that stretch. Seriously, what other SEO teams have done better than Burg over the past five years?

Looking over a longer horizon, they most certainly are a SEO powerhouse program:
- Last SEO school to win a state title
- Two state titles (ties with IHS)
- Best all time winning percentage in SEO
- 4th best all time winning percentage in the entire state
- Top 10 in the state in playoff appearances
- #2 in playoff appearances in SEO
- #2 in SEO in regional titles

Those numbers do not indicate average, even if we just focus on the last five seasons.

Based on that logic, Burg is a state powerhouse and IHS is not since Burg won a state title six years ago (few D5 teams have) while IHS has not won one since 1989. Time to quit portending IHS matters on the state level per your own logic.

Ironton is irrelevant on the State level also. Weak region. Bad football.

With that, we agree.

This is not 1989 when Lutz and Miller lead undefeated teams to state titles in D3 and D4.

Burg and IHS coaches need to adopt the philosophy and mindset of these two great coaches.

Bottom line is where would both programs be without recruits! They would be a step or two from being irrevalant more so than they are now ,from a state wide perceptive. No one has answered where will Ironton be in a few years when maybe Coach seeks bigger things outside Ironton city limits. Then where does this leave Ironton, no league to be in, no transfers,! Its coming and only time will tell!

Are you sure about that?

Burg has had one transfer in the past three years. Also Burg won their first state title (zero transfers) and had some of their best teams when the school district had closed borders.

Should have your facts straight before making such claims.
