State Semi-Final Pairings

Post by XandOs »

The OHSAA is trying to make sure the SEO schools don’t make the State Final in 2023.

In region 19, the winner will now have to go play the region 17 winner South Range/Perry in the Semi-finals rather than playing region 20 winner like they have for last 10 years.

Made the road for Wheelersburg and Harvest Prep much tougher.

Gotta go thru them eventually to be the champs. Not much daylight between 2nd and 4th in the state, as far as I'm concerned. 3 of the 4 end up being regional champs for any given year.

That might be true in division 5 but division 7 it's just the opposite. The winner of the Caldwell Eastern game gets Danville Dalton winner. Avoiding Marion local your eventual division 7 runaway winner.

If you ain’t first, you’re last. Got to win them all. No one cares about who didn’t win it. Heck eventually no one will really care about any of it. Lol

Burg just needs to try to win one at a time. See what happens.

Told my son the same thing…if you’re gonna win it all you’ll eventually have to beat them or the team that beat them.

My guess is most teams are worried about who they're playing Friday night rather than who they might be playing should they win.

A lot of talk about how many teams should make it, I personally feel 12 should be the mark and some think 8 is good enough. Right now in Division 1, #12 Springfield is leading 13-12 in a semi-final game.

Springfield coach screwed up at the end. Going to overtime.

If Springfield loses, the coaches will be kicking themselves. What a mistake!!

They pulled it off, not sure why he went for 2 vs going up 8 and making the other team convert a 2. 5-5, #12 seed headed to the state championship game but they've got a tall task in taking on St. Edwards but shoot they've been playing with house money for weeks.

I was surprised that they just didn’t take a knee since Moeller was out of timeouts. Then going for 2 was another surprise.

Great game and exciting ending. And yes, Ed’s is a monster.
