Most Hated Team In Southern Ohio?

Who is it? I’m sure many will say Ironton but I believe it would be The Burg. Then there’s West. Portsmouth has been down so long many have forgot about them. I’d include some of the Kentucky teams but most schools don’t want anything to do with them. Ironton’s biggest rival (no, it’s not Portsmouth) Ashland from what I understand won’t play the Tigers

I realize my poll will be almost entirely the opinion of those who dwell here but I think it’s interesting. Me? I hate The Burg. I must add though, I respect the program and their players. They always play hard from the opening KO to the last second. They won’t lay down

Probably depends on what conference you are in. If Ironton and Burg would get a lot of votes it is due to them lasting longer in the playoffs.

I dont know about the hate stuff, but I'd say Burg is the most respected PROGRAM across all sports. They are by far the best in this century.

Kantucky, for me - without a doubt - it is wheelersburg. It hard to paint an entire community with one broad stroke. But, collectively, they seem so arrogant. Like you, however, I respect them...the best staff in SE Ohio and gritty kids.
FIDO, I get what you're saying. But, for me & lots of folks in these parts, if a team is consistently the best in football (and Ironton is), you can have the other sports.

Wheelersburgs football relevance is way overstated on seops.

In the last two seasons

Vs Ironton 0 - 2
Vs Jackson 0 - 2
Vs West 1 - 1
Vs Prep 0 - 3
Also, Burg has only won their region 3 times in 25+ years. Burgs football hype mostly centers around winning their 2nd title while Ironton was down for a few years. But since then and since Irontons program has evolved and transitioned to what it is now, Burg football has gradually devolved from what they were several seasons ago for a season or two.

Boys hoops = same. Very average.

And the rest? Do that many fans really even care enough about watching to hate them? Idk.
