16 teams getting in worked

Post by fortdawg »

Springfield in Division 1 was the twelfth seed and will now play for a stage championship.
Teams can catch lightning in a bottle and they are the proof.

Take Top 12. 1-4 Week 11 Bye, 5-12 Play it out. Best way to have more games so OHSAA cashes in but also keep a playoff birth special…

I was told coaches said they didn’t want a bye would rather play.

I find that surprising.
The "Bye" never beat anyone and who wouldn't like an extra week to heal up.
The off week would allow you to work on any fundamentals that needed polished.

Of course those guys playing seeds, 13 and below and rather play and then they're worried about being down to 8 teams the week after and they can't get their team ready.

Yes it’s a mess. DI R1 had a 1-9 team make it, R2 has 17 total teams. R3 also 17 teams and R4 being the only one with more but had some 3-7 teams make it

It may work elsewhere but R27 barely deserves 4 spots

Can we please stop with this? Why shouldn’t these teams get in? What cause they’re not as good as the others? Who cares? If that’s the case no one in d7 outside of MSML and maybe like 3 other teams should make the playoffs cause they’re gonna get waxed. Are we forgetting this isn’t college or the NFL? These are kids. So what if the matchup isn’t good or games are blowouts. It’s not about what we as fans want to see, it’s about giving the kids an experience. They went through everything the same just as much as any other team.

He11 yeah and give them all a trophy while we’re at it. Let all the teams in and make it double or triple elimination so they can all feel real good about themselves for an extra couple of weeks. That’ll give all some stories to tell their grandkids and it’ll make them successful in life too don’t you know.

Yeah those “stage championships” are hard to come by.

lol way to completely blow it out of proportion. You gonna tell me that the 13 seed St Paul, who beat the 4 and 5 seed in region 25 shouldn’t have made it in? Or how bout 3-7 St. Henry who won two playoff games as the 14 seed. Maybe 12 seed Highland in region 18 shouldn’t have made it since they beat the 5 seed but then lost the next game. Shall I continue? Typical boomer talk. Bet you had to walk to school uphill both ways so they should nowadays too huh

Yeah you know what, you’re right! Arse whoopings and being down 42-0 in the second quarter of a state semifinal game are great for the kids and the sport. Hell, you might as well push them all to go play D3 college football, be a four year punt team player, and get them a four year teaching degree and graduate 100k in debt! Keep them boys playing!

Ask any of them if they think they deserved to be there or not. I’ll guarantee not one would say otherwise. They put in the work. They deserve to be there just as much as much as any team. But hell let’s just have all the fans vote before the games start to see if teams should even show up! Who cares how much work they’ve put in, fans might not think it’s a good game so hell with it just send em home. Ridiculous.

I see reading comprehension (and spelling) isn’t a strong suit down in ole Meigs county. The irony of you accusing someone of having multiple accounts 🤣

But ya know what we should do double elimination, then I can watch those little eagles get stomped twice 🤣

Bottom line, whoever wins their region deserves to be there. They won their games. Don’t like it? Beat them.

Don't know a coach of a quality program who would want a bye at the end of a season, when you should be peeking and on a roll, you don't want that MO to stop or slow down!

You nailed it but the word irony will give him and all his profiles a headache. :)

That’s what Coach Huck of Fort Frye told me. Coaches don’t want 2 weeks off. It be almost 14 days between games.
