Expanding to 3 would be dumb. There's already so many schools in the extended SOC that don't have football and likely never will. (Western, New Boston, South Webster, Clay, St Joe). A 5 school division would only give 4 conference games. And a 4 team SOC1 would only yeild 3 conference games.
Too much potential to end in a tie. Unioto and Piketon aren't leaving the SVC, and I doubt Jackson would leave the FAC. Two divisions for football is fine (though I think Valley should go to SOC1 and Northwest to SOC2).

They will create a 4th division:

The Charmin Ultra Soft Division:

NW and Oakhill will play each other 10 weeks in a row

Competitive Balance as I see it. I believe it would be a toss up each year in all 3 divisions.

SOC 1:
South Gallia
Wheelersburg
Symmes Valley
Sciotoville East

SOC 2:
Valley
West
Green
Oak Hill

SOC 3:
Eastern
Minford
Waverly
Notre Dame

Is there a missing sarcasm tag? I feel like Waverly is too big to be playing Eastern and Notre Dame every year

Jackson
River Valley
Wellston
Rock hill
Gallia
Piketon

I’d imagine calls would be made to at least those schools.
I'd take Jackson off of that list they seem very content in the FAC and were part of trying to pull other teams in, plus you've got SOC teams that have no interest in having Jackson in the SOC. I'd substitute Portsmouth over Jackson if I had to take a guess. Even Piketon is a stretch in trying to get them to leave SVC.
I would think Piketon would be interested. That would cut down on alot travel wouldn’t it. Put them in the middle division.

Northwest
Valley
Piketon
Oakhill
Rock Hill.
They all have nice turf fields.

Pretty sure this vote is under the assumption no schools will be added.

This game does no one in the SOC1 any favors. But considering everyone but Eastern plays them - whatever. (Doesn't the SHAC have 5 schools playing football?)

This is brilliant. Does that mean Northwest leaves?

Again, that means there would be THREE conference games for each school in 2 divisions, and four for whichever division has the 5 teams. That's preposterous. Talk about the laughingstock conference. I'd root for a 3 way tie in all 3 divisions. Let everyone be winners. Have 40 kids make first team all conference. That's what these crybabies want anyway.

Puke.

That’s what I was curious about because simply not enough teams going to be a group looking for non conference games

Manchester (SOC I FB?) and Fayetteville (SBAAC FB) are the only 2 SHAC members who play football under OHSAA.

Peeples, North Adams, West Union, Southern Buckeye (Georgetown, SBAAC), and Western-Pike (SOC) do have club football together, but haven't elevated football past club football.

This does make me curious if we see further SOC expansion eastward if SHAC tries to go for 12 schools with Georgetown and Western-Pike added.

I highly doubt Piketon would leave the comfort of the SVC for the SOC. They’ve been there so long the natural rivalries and. To be quite Frank they aren’t up to par with many SOC II teams, they dropped Waverly week 1 after 2019 bc of how one sided that series has been

Gotta wonder if a no-vote leads to any schools leaving (*cough* Oak Hill *cough*)?*

Have to think that'll be the start of it for OH and NW since they were the ones pushing this. OH just needs to wise up and apply to the TVC it makes so much sense it's like they think it can't be that simple.

I don’t know who was pushing for it but I think folks were looking for a solution to good play in the conference.
