I talked to a guy last Sunday at Rooster's in Chilli. He was an assistant in Jackson at one time. Anyway, told me he saw Phillips at some gathering in Wellston for Larry Blackstone. He said Phillips said he didn't apply. He has 30 some years in teaching, and can't afford to go to another school and take a big pay cut. He also said he was very complimentary of the kids at VC. Said they played very hard and were great to coach. Was disappointed TJ left because he wanted to continue to be defensive coordinator. Take it for what it is worth. Guy said he spoke to him directly.

No word yet. I have confirmed nearly 20 applicants total but don’t know specific names. Interviews are currently being done. Not sure if they will just pick the best person or have second round interviews.

I spoke with the AD. They are going to have a recommendation for the April BOE meeting. Unsure on who that will be but one will be selected soon.

As of now, weight training is still going on with coach Irvin just like in years past. If it is Fry, I would imagine the entire staff will stay the same.
