MVL makes it 4 in a row with a final score of 34-15
Total domination by MVL, physically and athletically. The score makes it seem much closer than it was.
MVL went right down the field on first drive of game to score. Max Lyall to Bentley Hanson huge completion set up 1 yard rush by Jayden Wallace.
2nd quarter saw the New Lex duo of Stephens to Hanson link up twice. The second one was an ESPN highlight catch, wish I had been closer to see it, but a very impressive catch!
Licking finally put together after down 27-0 in the 3rd with a couple big runs where they had a rare break of containment against the otherwise stout MVL D.
After the score, first play of the drive MVL tried a trick play with a sort of Philly Special with the WR taking a jet sweep and attempting to throw back to Stephens. The only problem was it was badly underthrown and Licking County took it back for a TD.
It was at this point that the MVL went heavy ground and pound with Wallace and Gilcher and ran up and down the field, dominating the line of scrimmage. Wallace finished with the rushing TD.
Hanson from NL was the clear cut MVP with 2 TD receptions and close to 100 yards total. Lyall and Stephens both tossed 2 TDs and Wallace ran 2 in. Preston from Philo DPOG in my opinion. Had several big hits!
This is a great appetizer as well close in on the regular season.
