Trimble v NY 2025
Will this be the last year for this game? Will it even be played this year? If so, will Trimble be able to avoid the running clock? It’s dreadful that these are the questions being asked. But with the situation at hand the outcome is pretty much a foregone conclusion. Shame on the adults who have caused this, and empathy for the kids who will suffer because of it.

Has Trimble even hired a football coach yet? Or did the superintendent screw that up too?

Phil Faires is back as the head coach of the Trimble Tomcats, according to last night’s board meeting.

I heard they were gonna pursue Sammy T if Philsy didnt return. They heard he knew how to run some trick plays.
Re: Trimble v NY 2025
Supposedly hired Phil back after advertising the position and no one else applied. But hey it’s only mid June and every other school in the state hired their coach months ago. Re: Trimble v NY 2025
Is there any chance Trimble avoids a running clock, or are we looking at another one-sided result that could demoralize players?

Another one-sided result? You do realize it was a one score game last year, right?lauralordelaure wrote: Tue Jun 10, 2025 10:52 pm Is there any chance Trimble avoids a running clock, or are we looking at another one-sided result that could demoralize players?
Being realistic, yes the Buckeyes should be loaded this year. Bringing back a ton of solid kids, and they had a good season last year, so I look for them to run away with it this year. But, to call last year one sided?

In this rivalry, it hardly ever matters how good either team is. It will be a slugfest.

Re: Trimble v NY 2025
I heard Trimble is cutting all sports except four: football, volleyball, boys basketball, girls basketball.
Eliminated sports: cross country, golf, wrestling, baseball, softball. No spring sports.
I heard wrestling is trying to fundraise to keep a team with zero funding from the school.

Re: Trimble v NY 2025
I think they are keeping golf. Football, volleyball, basketball and golf will be the 4 sports offered. Wrestling might come back like you said to bring the total to 5.NYBuckeye96 wrote: Wed Jun 18, 2025 9:37 pm I heard Trimble is cutting all sports except four: football, volleyball, boys basketball, girls basketball.

Surely someone will volunteer to coach baseball and softball…. Unfortunate situation for the kids in the Trimble school district.NYBuckeye96 wrote: Wed Jun 18, 2025 9:37 pm I heard Trimble is cutting all sports except four: football, volleyball, boys basketball, girls basketball.

As for the football game in week 1. This is almost always a close battle. NY returns a ton from last season but the kids at Trimble may use all of this distraction as fuel. I expect another battle in week 1.

I agree. This year worries me. I think NY will be a power house. Either way, always some hard hitting. Ready for it to be here already!Buck Nut wrote: Wed Jun 18, 2025 12:08 pm In this rivalry, it hardly ever matters how good either team is. It will be a slugfest.

Hope Thimble can pull off the miracle. We could use the playoff points. Then can’t wait for the Eagles to bust that assz again and make it four in a row. It’s a great time to be an Eagle.

Hoping our coach hires someone qualified to call the offense.
Re: Trimble v NY 2025
A few 7 on 7’s already in the books and we are now less than 40 days away from the 56th edition of the rivalry. Both teams can capture their 400th win this season as each team sets at 392 wins.
Combined:
784 wins
46 conference championships
6 regional titles
3 state title appearances
1 state title

Nelsonville-York preseason write up by Carl Blalock of Blalock Media.
Nelsonville-York Buckeyes
Last Year Record: 8-3
Head Coach: Rusty Richards
Even though Nelsonville-York defeated both their rivals and took home the TVC-Ohio crown last season, the Buckeyes were not satisfied with how the season ended, “Our kids are pretty motivated” Head Coach Rusty Richards said, “Even though we won the league, we felt like we left some stuff on the table that we could’ve achieved.” Cameron Sullivan will once again lead the Buckeyes under center. Sullivan is striving to get better and stay healthy after a sprained ankle hindered his performance last year. The Buckeyes bring back most of their skill position players, including Alec Thompson and Dakota Cunningham. The premier receiver in this offense may end up being Walker Stone, who will look to replace the dynamic playmaking of Landon Innman, “We have to get the ball into Walker’s hands” Richards said, “he’s one of those guys who can take a little screen and take it 80 yards in a hiccup.” However, the heart of this NY team will be their offensive line, with 4 seniors returning, including 4 year starter Will Odenthal “This might be one of the best offensive lines I’ve had since I’ve been at Nelsonville-York” Richards said. The Buckeyes also bring 9 of 11 starters back on defense, including 4 year starter Alec Thompson and standout defensive lineman Caeleb Layton. With the speed of the secondary and the size of the front seven, the Buckeyes will have a potent balance on defense. Nelsonville-York’s added goal this season, along with beating Trimble and Athens, and winning their 27th TVC title, is to earn one of the four byes in the new 12 team playoff. The Buckeyes will begin their season on August 22nd with their annual rivalry at Trimble.

Now that they’ve ridden themselves of the BIG Spender and PeeWee the Choker, Trimble is on the long road to recovery. NO ONE gives them even a puncher’s chance in this game. Can The Gambler shock the world and beat his former understudy? Highly unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

Re: Trimble v NY 2025
I heard they're not eliminated, but the coaches are unpaid positions now and the school won't provide transportation is what I heard, so basically a club sport. Still a lot of confusion going on without many answers to the numerous questions the community hasTvC1996 wrote: Tue Jul 22, 2025 11:39 pmWhere is anyone seeing that trimble eliminated spring sports??
