Week 1- Logan at Athens; 100th meeting!

Post by Logangrad »

Logan will renew its longstanding rivalry with Athens this fall and 2025 marks the 100th meeting between the two schools. I have established a new traveling trophy; the Dunn-Metters Trophy, honoring two great former sports writers Craig Dunn and Tom Metters; that the winning school will get to keep for 365 days as bragging rights for the victory.

Logan has a new Head Coach, a new Era in football, they are going back to the Purple Helmets with a number and no spear in 2025. The Chiefs lost a ton to graduation, and it will be interesting to see how roster spots play out. I was told Logan will have potentially 7 transfers but one is an 8th grader who looks to be a future stud on the gridiron down the road.

Who can give insights into the Athens outlook for 2025?

I took in the Athens/Nelsonville York game last year. Athens lost but definitely had some nice players but for the life of me I can’t remember how many they were losing.

I think Athens had around 15 seniors last year. Might be wrong though

Trying to hang on to the traditional ones anyway it seems. I think Athens, Jackson and NY are a must until they figure out what direction they are going for the future.

Logan should try again to get into the TVC. I know our people are in favor of it.

Hoping our coach hires someone qualified to call the offense.
