Pitching help for the reds is a must ? Reds can win the division with help !!!

As of 07-13-21 and the All Star break the Reds are 48-42 good for second place behind Milwaukee. Of interest, the Reds are 26-14 since May 29th. The upcoming 9 came home stand will determine if the Reds are buyers or sellers of talent before the trade deadline. Sometimes the whole is better than the sum of its parts.

The Reds have a few Rookies that are very good, and play hard! India, and Stephenson are the real deal, IMO. 8-)

Agreed. India may never have all star stats but he brings a certain energy to the team that makes the Reds play better than their collective talent level. Stephenson is solid either at catcher or first.

Good ball players, and working hard to get better. Definitely got enough big league talent in their blood to be there.

I may be completely off base on this, but if Stephenson is close to 6'4" in height, first base might be a better fit in the long run. Of course it probably determines if in the future, just who they would have that could be the starting catcher. Again, I may be wrong, but 6'4" just seems pretty tall for a catcher.

As of July 17, 2021, the Reds are 48-44, in 2nd place and 6 games back of the NL Central leading Brewers. The Reds are 6-4 in their last 10 games but have lost 2 in a row to Milwaukee. As good as the Reds bullpen had been in the immediate run up to the All Star game, they have turned bad again.

I think with the Reds' front office, payroll and player contract control will govern trade activity. They are not going to "buy" if it increases payroll and are more likely to sell Castellanos as he can opt out of his contract at seasons end. I would be shocked to see the Reds ownership actually try and improve the team before the trade deadline.

That will be a big lost Castellanos ? But they have young pitchers that's better than what's in the bullpen now.

The collapse after the all star break happens every year, nothing new here.

Opportunity lost over the weekend for Cincy. They are not out of contention but looks like they would have to play .700 ball the rest of the way to catch Milwaukee if the Brewers keep playing at the same pace. I think the Reds front office would be now more inclined to sell talent for prospects than finding immediate help.
