Reds lost last night 3-1. Castillo wasn’t great, but it’ll take some time for him to get back up to par. Bullpen pitched well though. Reds just weren’t hitting last night. Hunter Greene will be on the mound this afternoon for his first ever start against the Pirates. I could see him possibly fanning double digits.

Just a question on Mr. Greene's development. Would he and the Reds be better served with AAA time learning how to pitch rather than being a flame thrower. He is 1-5 with a 7.62 ERA and is averaging a combination of 1.78 walks and hits an inning plus giving up 11 home runs in 6 starts. I would hate to see a young talented player's psyche destroyed by being placed in a position they are not ready for. Than again, there are arguments for a sink or swim approach.

Hunter Greene with a nice outing today. 7.1 innings of no hit baseball. 9 k’s. He did walk 5 and threw 118 pitches. Ran out of gas late. But for this to only be his 7th big league start he looked really good. Growing pains will happen, but games like this are good for young guys development. Art Warren came in and walked a guy after Greene walked his final 2 batters. Pirates ended up scoring a run in the bottom of the 8th on a forced fielders choice. Alejo Lopez could’ve turned a double play but hesitated, only got one. Next play they got the 3rd out. So through 8 the Reds have a no hitter going but are down 1-0.

Reds toss a no hitter but lose 1-0. Back to back days the bats didn’t exist. Off day tomorrow before hitting the road to Cleveland and Toronto.

Reds tried to blow it last night letting up a 2-run homer in the 9th but pulled through in extras 5-4 /10 innings to bring their record to 10-26

Mahle (2-4, 5.89 ERA) will face off against Quantrill (1-2 3.93 ERA) in tonight's matchup at 6:10. I like Mahle on the road.. let's see if we can grab this win before heading north of the border into good ole Canada

Why would a coach intentionally try to blow the game?
Or why would Art Warren come in and risk job security by allowing a HR?

Reds win today 4-2 over Cleveland. Cincy is currently the hottest team in the NL, winning 7 of last 10.

As to manager's moves and field decisions, I see lot of stuff that makes you wonder, but I also see laptops in MLB dugouts. Seems analytical decisions based on data is what drives decision making in baseball now days. Sparky is rolling in his grave.

Reds beat the Cubs 20-5 today. No, that’s not an error on my part. The Reds actually scored 20 runs today. Huge game from Kyle Farmer. Pitching was pretty solid. Nice win!

But the Reds missed an extra point conversion.
