The Reds with supposedly the best roster in the NL Central find themselves 6.5 games out with 41 left to play. Is it the players or the team's leadership?

Put some runs on the board tonight.

At times we look good.

At times we look bad. Then times we look real bad.

We just haven’t been good for a long time for many reasons.

Even on a win I gotta say I don’t know what’s tougher. Being a Browns fan. Or being a Reds fan.

Sonny Gray vividly remembers sitting in the dugout nine days ago in Cleveland and watching Jesse Winker draw a walk on a full count curveball against Mike Clevinger. Gray remembers the way Winker looked in the on-deck circle and how he flipped his bat after he drew the walk. He goes to first and I'm like, he's locked in. Winker raised the temperature on his hot streak with 2 HR's Friday, the first multi-homer game of his career, and Sonny Gray did the rest in the Reds 8-1 victory against the Pirates. Winker is 11 for 16 with 5 HR's and 3 walks in his last 5 games.

Does anyone know who tested positive for the Reds with COVID?

I’m assuming today’s game will be canceled???

I didn't see the game, but a good observation on your part. As the Reds celebrated an 8-1 victory over the Pirates on Friday, center fielder Nick Senzel did not join the victory line. Reds manager David Bell was aware of the situation, but he declined to elaborate. It's just something personal and internal with Nick and our team that we'll have more information coming up.

The Reds claimed outfielder Nick Williams off waivers from the Phillies on Saturday, and optioned Williams to their alternate training site at Plasco Park. Williams, 26, is a left handed hitting corner outfielder who hit 12 HR while hitting .288 as a rookie in 2017, but he appeared to fall out of favor with the Phillies when he hit 17 HR and 50 RBI's over 140 games in 2018. I'm not quite sure why the Phillies would have soured on him, as those are not the worst stats that I've ever seen.

I checked the Reds web site a short time ago, and a name has not been released as yet. I may be wrong about this, as this may just apply to the NFL, but I think that it is up to the player as to whether he wants his name released or not. I remember earlier when Joey Votto missed a couple games, there was a little speculation that he may have tested positive, but he returned after missing a couple games and did say that he hadn't felt well a day or so.

Yes I remember that about Votto. Not that it’s a biG deal. Just curious. That’s all.

In need of a fresh arm for their bullpen after two taxing days for the clubs relievers, the Reds have selected the contract of right handed pitcher Tyler Thornburg ahead of Friday's 8-1 win over the Pirates. To make room on the roster, utility infielder Christian Colon was designated for assignment. In Thornburg's Reds debut on Friday, he pitched two scoreless innings with three strike outs.
