In a few roster moves in the past couple days, the Reds have put outfielder Nick Senzel on the injury list and reinstated Mike Moustakas to the active roster. The reason for Senzel's injury designation was not provided. In a few other roster moves, the Reds assigned infielder Alex Blandino, outfielder Mark Payton, catcher Tyler Stephenson and infielder Christian Colon to the taxi squad.

Reds pinch hitter Matt Davidson delivered a go ahead gran-slam in the sixth inning and the Reds beat the Cardinals 4-2 on Friday night. Davidson drove a 2-0 pitch from Tyler Webb to left field and into the Reds bullpen. It was Davidson's third home run of the season, his second career grad slam and his first pinch hit home run. Manager David Bell, said he was so happy for Davidson, and of course our team with a big win.

Based on his first two starts in a Reds uniform, each start lasting 1 2/3 innings, Wade Miley had a very low bar to clear on Saturday night against the Cardinals. And although Miley was on the losing side of the ledger3-0 Reds defeat, the veteran left hander cleared his previous efforts by a wide margin. The Reds were supposed to be so much better this year, with all the different players that they brought in, it just isn't happening.

I could not agree more if I tried.
Yadier Molina of the Cardinals drilled a pair of RBI singles, and Harrison Bader crushed a two-run homerun as the Cardinals beat the Reds 6-2 on Sunday. The win enabled the Cardinals to take the series 3 games to 1 over the Reds.

After the Reds just dropped 3 out of 4 games to the Cardinals this past weekend, manager David Bell was asked if this upcoming series against the Milwaukee Brewers was a must win series ? I quote Bell, " I understand the Question." So everything is okay in Reds land. Also just read this in the Cincinnati Inquirer. According to FanGraphs, ( I have no idea ) the Reds still have a 46% chance to make the playoffs, if I bet it will be on the 54% to not make the playoffs. Really, I guess that we do have to have faith though, because David did understand the Question.

Honestly even in a normal year, the Reds front office does not care about winning. They get paid their salary and the owners make money through appreciation of the franchise value. First place or last place, they smile all the way to the bank.

If the Reds and the Brewers were not division rivals, they could commiserate with each other over their underwhelming offensive production this season. The Reds had a good chance of adding to the Brewers misery by sending Trevor Bauer, along with his 4-0 record and MLB leading 0.68 ERA to the mound. It just so happened that the Brewers flipped the script on Bauer, however, as he gave up nearly as many hits and more runs than he had allowed in all of his previous 2020 starts combined during a 4-2 Reds loss on Monday night. We're 2 or 3 games from the halfway point of the season, we don't seem to be heading in the right direction.

Prior to the game on Tuesday night, the Reds placed right-handed pitcher Anthony DeSelatami on the paternity list and selected the contract of left-handed reliever Jesse Biddle. They also added infielder Jose Garcia to the taxi squad. DeSelafani has up to three days to be away from the team on paternity leave.

Reds manager David Bell and first baseman Joey Votto were both ejected late in the Reds 3-2 loss to the Brewers on Tuesday night, punctuating a frustrating road trip that hasn't gotten any easier during their visit to Miller Park. Votto struck out 4 times, including 3 times looking, extending his hitless streak to 0-fer-18. As he ran out on the field for his position in the bottom of the 8th inning, he said something briefly to the home plate umpire, who quickly ejected the first baseman. Bell's argument lasted longer than Votto's, but he likewise was also ejected.

This has gotten out of hand with these umpires ejecting players. I saw a player get ejected the other night for saying "that's terrible". I wish the NBA officials would get that strict.

The offense is lost.
Votto needs go backside like he used to.
Geno needs to get off the plate.
Winker needs to quit swinging for the fence.
Castellanos can't hit a curveball.
Barnhart can't hit. Can you DH for the catcher like HS? LOL
Shogo is overmatched with fastballs.
Ervin hit well the last few years when he went to right.
Moose has a hole in his bat.
Davidson is all or nothing.
Galvis has shown some signs.

Lineup:

Galvis
Shogo
Castellanos
Winker
Geno
Moose
Votto
Davidson
Catchers
