The reserve/Covid-19 list is not just for those who have tested positive, but also for those who have been exposed to someone who has tested positive. Mayfield was in close contact with a Browns staff member who tested positive, so he's being put on the list. Mayfield will need five days of negative tests before he can be reinstated from the list.
The Browns activated QB Baker Mayfield from the reserve/Covid-19 list on Wednesday, allowing him to return to the team facilities for practice ahead of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. Cleveland (5-3) hosts the Texans (2-6) who are coming off a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The Browns have not had a player test positive since training camp opened in August. I hope the Browns do not take the Texans lightly, as I think they are a lot better team than what their record shows. Also, at least for the rest of the season, ex Browns head coach Romeo Crennel is the interim head coach of the Texans, after they parted ways with head coach Bill O'Brien.

Romeo Crennel knows a thing or two about the Cleveland Browns. After all, he was the franchise's coach from 2005-2008 and was the last coach to lead the team to a winning record (10-6 in 2007). What Crennel has seen thus far from rookie coach Kevin Stefanski has been impressive. It looks like they've made a lot of progress to be 5-3. This league is very tough for everybody, but they're in the hunt. We've all got the last half of the season to play, we'll see how they come out at the last half.

The Cleveland Browns have placed offensive lineman Chris Hubbard on the reserve/Covid-19 list on Friday after shutting down their facility and delaying practice to do contact tracing, an unexpected disruption two days before they host Houston. Hubbard will miss Sunday's game against the Texans. He had started Cleveland's past three games at right guard for Wyatt Teller, who is expected back after missing three games with a strained calf.

The Cleveland Browns brought in a familiar face for a tryout this week. Wide receiver Derrick Willies was back in Berea for a workout with the team, one of three players the Browns auditioned this week. Willies made the team in 2018 as an undrafted free agent out of Texas Tech. Willies was with the Browns in the 2019 preseason but failed to make the final roster. The 6'4" wideout spent the 2019 campaign on the Browns practice squad.

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb, in his first game since Week-4, delivered the dagger for the home team by not scoring a touchdown. When was the decision made that Chubb would pass on a clear and easy touchdown ? Chubb said it was made in the huddle, and I got the call from Baker (Mayfield) to if we get a first down or anything, let's just end the game and not score. Chubb said after Sunday's 10-7 win over the Texan's, there was an opportunity for me to do that and that's what I did.

Good that Chubb was not over used. The split with Hunt was very good to allow Chubb to be able to make the big plays at the end.
The defense did a pretty good job to control the Texans. Now will they play like that next week?

The Covid-19 pandemic continues to rear it's unwelcome head with the Cleveland Browns. Three more Browns players were placed on the teams Reserve/Covid-19 list on Wednesday. Starting right guard Jack Conklin, long snapper Charley Hughlett and kicker Cody Parkey were placed on the list. They now join offensive lineman Chris Hubbard and fullback Andy Janovich on the list. The Browns shutdown the team facilities on both Friday and Monday due to the positive tests.

NFL sacks leader Myles Garrett remained isolated from his teammates for the second straight day, but the Browns expect him to return Friday and play this weekend against Philadelphia. Garrett, who has 9 1/2 sacks, has stayed at home the past two days after not feeling well. As long as his next Covid-19 test comes back negative, the standout defensive end will be allowed back at the teams facility and to practice.

Browns running back Kareem Hunt lifted off just inside the 5-yard line, soared over the head of the Eagles Jalen Mills like an Olympic long jumper and landed in the end zone. Without star Myles Garrett, the Browns needed someone to step up. Hunt went above and beyond, and he wasn't the only one. While Hunt hurdled Mills on a sensational touchdown run, Olivier Vernon made up for Garrett's absence due to Covid-19 by getting three sacks and a safety, and the Browns stayed firmly in the playoff picture with a wet 22-17 victory over the Eagles. Hunt's leaping 5-yard score came shortly after a dazzling 54-yard run by Nick Chubb as the Browns (7-3) finally found traction in their running game in a constant downpour throughout most of the game.

I give up on the Browns defense too soon! They showed a lot of resolve today without their star. Another very winnable game next week could push them to 8-3. They are winning the games they are supposed to which hasn't happened in awhile.

Browns having players making plays. Playing more as a team. Winning games they should is big as long as they do not get to full of themselves and not play team football.

I agree completely, most of the game yesterday the defense was a pleasant surprise. It also didn't hurt that they were playing against a QB that has struggled big time most of the season.

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett who was put on the reserve/Covid-19 list this past Friday, will not play in Week-12 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Coach Kevin Stefanski said on Monday that we're ruling him out because that's what the protocol calls for.

The Cleveland Browns are down another defensive starter. Starting cornerback Denzel Ward, who leads the NFL in passes defensed and is coming off his best game this season, will miss time with a strained calf he sustained in Sunday's win over Philadelphia. Ward's injury is just the latest to a big name player for the Browns (7-3),who are already missing defensive end Myles Garrett, who will miss his second straight game this week at Jacksonville as he recovers from Covid-19.

The latest addition to the growing list of Cleveland Browns on the teams reserve/Covid-19 list is linebacker Sione Takitaki. The team added Takitaki to the list officially on Wednesday, the same day they acknowledged a positive test for an active player. Takitaki joins Myles Garrett, OL Chris Hubbard, FB Andy Janovich and DE Joe Jackson on the reserve list. The Browns closed down the team facility and operated remotely for the second day in a row due to Takitaki's positive test. Joe Jackson had tested positive on Tuesday.

The Cleveland Browns didn't dodge Covid-19 on the holiday, as they placed defensive end Porter Gustin on the reserve/Covid-19 list on Thursday, futher weakening a group already missing Myles Garrett and the latest move for a Browns team hit hard by the Virus in recent weeks. Gustin's positive test forced the Browns to close their facility for the third day in a row to conduct contact tracing.

The Cleveland Browns are going to add another player to their reserve/Covid-19 list on Thursday, but the total number of players on the list will remain at five. Offensive lineman Chris Hubbard has been activated from the reserve/Covid-19 list. He went on the list on November 13th and missed the last two games. Reports are that Hubbard feels well and did not have symptoms while on the reserve list. Hubbard has appeared in seven games and made four starts this season.

Covid going around. Did Browns players have Mayfield deep fry turkey for them?? Available players the rest of the season will be a big factor in the Browns season as the Raven's are going down hill.
