The most exciting XFL game to date ended with Houston (2-0) topping St. Louis (1-1) by four points. Both quarterbacks played well and both made many of exciting plays. Jordan Ta'Amu (Mississippi) went 30-37, 284 yards, 3 TD'S with 2 Int's for St. Louis. P.J.Walker (Temple) went 20-31, 170 yards with 3 touchdowns. Ta'Amu carried the ball 8 times for 32 yards with a touchdown, while Walker had 4 rushes for 27 yards. The player of the game was Cam Phillips (Virginia Tech) 3 touchdowns on 8 catches good for 63 yards. He was targeted 10 times by Walker. Kahlil Lewis (Cincinnati) caught four balls for 50 yards. The go to guy for St. Louis for Ta'Amu was L'Damian Washington (Missouri) 6 catches for 77 yard. The Battlehawks used the ground game a lot with, Matt Jones (Florida) getting 16 carries and 44 yards and Christine Michael (Texas A&M) 15 carries for 38 yards.
On the defensive thing of things St. Louis got 6 tackles by Dexter McCoil (Tulsa). Andrew Ankrah (James Madison) had a sack and 3 total tackles. For the Roughnecks, Beniquez Brown (Mississippi) had 10 tackles. Cody Brown (Arkansas State) and Jeremiah Johnson (Jeremiah) each had a pick. Sergio Castillo (West Texas A&M) had the only field goal of the game for Houston and it was from 44 yards out.
