The playoffs could not have started out any better (unless you're a Blue Jackets fan)

Tampa Bay wins game 1, 3-2 in FIVE overtimes.

I actually like what Torts has done with the younger looking Blue Jackets.

That being said....I am looking for that 4th W for the Lightning. One down....three to go

Finally!! A game ends in regulation at Toronto....

Washinton got 2 goals from T. J. Oshie but the Islanders scored 4 straight, with 3 of them in the final 20 minutes . NY Islanders 4...Washington Caps 2

Washington might be without the services of Nicklas Backstrom for awhile. He took a hard hit from Anders Lee in the first period and did not return. Just a guess..he is concussion protocol. Appeared to be a clean hit...close, but clean.

Islanders goals by Jordan Eberle, Anders Lee, Josh Bailey (short handed game winner) and Anthony Beauvillier. NYI up 1-0 in series.

Out West in Edmonton....

Colorado stifled Arizona...holding them to 14 shots on goal. The Avalanche broke open a scoreless game with 3 third period goals...3-0 final

Vancouver also scored 3 third period goals to break a 2 all tie with defending Cup champs, St. Louis Blues...5-2 final

Columbus tied the series with a 3-1 over Tampa Bay.

The Lightning came out fast, with Kurcherov scoring in tje first 10 minutes. After killing a power play, the Blue Jackets got the equalizer from Murray. Towards the end of the first they took the lead for good as Bjorkstrand scored on a power play.

Wennberg added a goal in the third for the final talley. Kaprisola made 36 saves.

Blue Jackets played an excellent collapsing defense after taking the lead. Tampa probably had no more the 4 good looks at goal after the first period.

Series tied at a game apiece....here we go

From the Toronto Bubble...

No Tukka- no problem. The Bruins got a PP goal from Charlie Coyle, a shorthanded goal by Sean Kuraly (GW goal), and an empty net goal by Brad Marchand to beat the Hurricanes 3-1 and take a 2-1 series lead. Backup goalie Jaroslav Halak stopped 29 of 30 shots.
