Columbus Clippers 5 Louisville Bats 4 8 Innings

Post by LICKING COUNTY FAN »

In game one of the doubleheader, the Clippers and Bats went to extra innings for the second time this series. This time, it would be the Clippers (5-6) escaping with the win. Jhonkensy Noel singled in the first to put the Clippers up 2-0. Myles Straw put the road team up 3-0 with a double in inning number two. In the bottom of the second, the Bats made this a 3-2 game on Austin Wynns double. Johnathan Rodriguez gave the Clippers the 4-2 lead with a base hit in the fourth. Conner Capel homered (5) in the bottom of the inning making the score 4-3. Wynns sac fly locked things up at four after four. Bryan Lavastida tripled (1) in the eighth to give Columbus the 5-4 lead and that would be all she wrote for the scoring in this one.

WP 1-0 Anthony Gose 0.00 ERA
LP 1-1 Alan Busenitz 2.84 ERA
