That's odd, the Associated Press says that Norte Dame was the national champion in 1946, 1947 and 1949.

Michigan was the national champ in 1948. Source - official record books of the NCAA.

Back then, the rankings were done after the regular season and before the bowl games. So, the bowl games had no effect on the final rankings.

Pryor has alot to think about now after last night OSU losing again to an SEC team in bowl game and another loss for an NC he has to think about what he wants to do go to OSU and try to help get them back to the NC and win or go to michigan and try to win one there and beat OSU

What it really comes down to is where he can run the type of offense he wants, plus being comfortable. I think both teams offer a lot, OSU will be loaded next season offensively, it will come down to if he feels like he wants to sit or rotate for a season, while if he goes to UM he will run a system that fits him a little better and compete right off the bat. It will be interesting to see what happends, but more news for you.

Omar Hunter decommited from ND and is back on the market with UF and UM being his top two.

Michael Shaw is also back on the market, he decommited from PSU and now has OSU and Michigan as his top two.

Lastly, Star Jackson, QB from the All American game has pulled his verbal and has WVU and Michigan as his top two.

Pryor told Brewster that he doesn't WANT to play until he is READY. As in, until he is one of the best QB's in the country. Pryor is cocky. He feels that he can play ANYWHERE when he is READY. If signing day were today, Pryor would sign to OSU, according to those closest to him and his own age. Could he change? Yes. We'll see.

If Terrelle Pryor, perhaps the No. 1 football recruit in the country, wants to start as a freshman, he should go to Michigan. Thereâ€™s no doubt about that.

Heâ€™s a quarterback in the mold of Vince Young, tall and mobile. Given the depleted state of the Wolverinesâ€™ depth chart, the Jeannette, Pa., product would be the first-stringer the moment he signed on the dotted line.

But if his ultimate designs are on the NFL â€“ and whose arenâ€™t at that age? â€“ he should go to Ohio State. There, he wonâ€™t be thrown to the wolves before heâ€™s ready.
There, heâ€™ll have to earn his position. And there, heâ€™ll better learn how to be an NFL signal caller.

Rich Rodriguezâ€™s zone-read offense is tailor-made for Pryor. But what will that do for him at the next level? West Virginia quarterback Pat White â€“ Rodriguezâ€™s former pupil -- is a terrific college player, but his best bet for an NFL future is as a cornerback or kick returner. Granted, Pryor has better physical tools than White. But NFL teams will be skeptical of a QB coming out of a zone-read offense, no matter how talented he is.

Ohio State certainly would add some zone-read facets to its offense to best utilize Pryor, but the Buckeyes likely would fold those into a more well-rounded scheme â€“ incorporating the traditional play-action and downfield passing attacks -- similar to what Texas did when it had Young. Itâ€™s critical that NFL evaluators see some drop-back passing on film. How often does White drop back at West Virginia?
Exactly.

The other advantage for a quarterback avoiding a straight-up zone-read offense is longevity. Every time Pryor runs the ball, he risks blowing out his knee. He would, of course, also run at OSU, but not as much as at U-M. You can get hurt in the pocket, too, but itâ€™s much safer in there than out on the edge, trying to juke safeties and linebackers diving at your legs every play.

The final point in the Buckeyesâ€™ favor is the trusted theory that quarterbacks, like offensive linemen, are best served by easing into the lineup. How did Jimmy Clausen look at Notre Dame this year? And Ryan Mallett at U-M? They were the consensus top two freshman QBs in the country, and Pryor could face a similar situation if he starts from day one at U-M next season. If he were to attend OSU, heâ€™d probably back up incumbent Todd Boeckman next fall, playing a series here and there and causing havoc in the red zone. Then, after Boeckman graduates, the offense is all his in 2009. Sound like Tim Tebowâ€™s career to anyone?

We wonâ€™t even get into the fact that Pryor is tight with most of OSUâ€™s verbal commitments â€“ they stuck a Buckeye sticker on his helmet at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl last weekend, and he didnâ€™t take it off.

This will be mostly a business decision for Pryor. If he wants to start right away, itâ€™s Ann Arbor. But if he wants to groom himself for an NFL future â€“ and know what itâ€™s like to win the last game of the regular season â€“ itâ€™s Columbus.

Remember it was a booster not the university that gave a 20 year old money. Just like the early 90's whenever all of the Michigan bball players got paid and I'm sure it was much more than $500.
