Football: Buckeyes vs. Volunteers?

Post by Orestes »

An "insider" on OSU's Scout site is saying that both schools are attempting to work out a home and home for the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Apparently, OSU put it out there, once again, that they would take a home and home with anyone in the country. I would love to see this happen. Big time non-conference games are great, and both teams have huge stadiums that would be on display.

If I see anything else about this game, I will definitely post.

To Tennessee's credit, they have been a team from that conference that has moved around a little bit to play.

their first game last year was againt Cal, not sure where it was played but that's really saying something when the majority of big name teams schedule easy games to build confidence early in the season (the vols lost that game by the way  )

Can't wait for them to play. Guess I have to wait another 9 years or so....Unless they play in a bowl game.

If this happens that will give OSU not one but TWO big out of conference games those two years as I believe they have Oklahoma those years also.

It's been agreed upon

Home and Home series for the 2017 and 2018 season.

Tennesse aparently has no issue with traveling North of the Mason Dixon line to play non conference games.

Not many SEC teams can say that.

The guy who had the info had his years wrong.

To his credit, he said OSU is in talks with UT about a home and home, and that he "thinks" 2016 and 2017 are the years.

He was half right lol. He called Pryor to OSU all along too, and also the Justin Boren transfer from Michigan.

I called Pryor going to OSU all along.

That one isn't something worth braging about prediction wise.

Also, I'm right just about as much as he is, and I have never read any of his stuff.

It's cool to have inside info like Nevada does, but you really don't need it.

OSU will be running offensive sets out of the "pistol" this season.

Pryor will be wearing #2.

Another player has left the Michigan team.

Dub...you should have taken some PSU and Michigan fans' money about Pryor. They were taking Nevada's bets. I'm guessing you like to check out Bucknuts?

Now which team is big enough to travel first, I believe it will be the Vols, OSU will wait to travel south as long as it takes

Just like they are waiting to travel west to USC?

No, we are going out there first.

It doesn't matter when they go south.

I know that the Buckeyes have had a couple of gimme non conference games, but so does EVERY OTHER SCHOOL.

Season bouts with Penn ST, Wisconsin, and which ever team between Iowa, MSU, Illinois, and Purdue that desides to be goo that year. Along with non conference that have been played or are scheduled with games with Texas, USC, Virginia Tech, Miami, Tennessee.

After this season, the 2 year deal with YSU will be over, and frankly I agree with why the game was scheduled in the first place.
