Looks like they will be changing the name to State Penn. They will also need to change the name of Happy Valley.

I have heard of the local media wanting to do stories before but were afraid of Joe Pa. Where Joe controlled everything going to the media.

As for Urban being the coach and a great recruiter he never stayed anywhere except Florida where his first recruiting class had went thur. 6 years at Florida with his last year being 8-5. As well as his health problems. This will be a very stressfull job for anyone going to Penn State not just coaching but all those in charge.

Urban released a statement today saying he is happy at ESPN, and has no plans to return to coaching at this time.

Basically can be read as, hey PSU, don't even bother, I don't want my name anywhere near Pedophile State University!

They need someone who is above reproach in the public eye. It will be a challenge for the new coach to restore faith among the alumni. Someone inspiring. Someone who will accept the challenge and make it work. Offer Lou Holtz for a couple years until the program is headed in the right direction again. He was born for a situation like this.

Wins and losses won't be important in Happy Valley for a while.

I have been saying since this was made public that this is not even the tip of the iceberg and after all things have been dug up and the dirty laundry is out, I honestly don't belive there will be a PSU football program, don't know so much about the university as a whole this will undoubtedly be the biggest and most sickening sports scandal at any level ever, it's almost hard to grasp. What happened at PSU is heads and shoulders above anything I have ever heard of at any level. It is the worst.

Urban Meyer is he is intelligent would not touch this job with a 100ft stick of dynamite let alone a pole.

Would Urban do well here, possibly. Why on earth would he associate himself now with PSU? What does he stand to gain? For one why follow in the shadow of the best coach ever to coach the game (in many's opinion), and why go to a program that is going to be stained for a very long time? You trying to sell no pressure is hilarious. No pressure at PSU, you're kidding right? Not only was there pressure before all of this, now the pressure is really on and the media will continue to cover PSU now for a very very long time. IMO this would be the worst career move that Urban could make.

Bigtimehitter, How can you see this happening at Notre Dame or Boston College? is it they are both Catholic schools? Sounds like someone is a classic bigot. The crimes committed by Catholic Priests were awful as was the cover-up but saying you could see this happening at ND or BC is almost slanderous.
