Michigan just nabbed two brothers from Millers High School, but I do not think it will help much. I do like our chances with Depriest.

These players should want to wait and see how the seasons progress for both OSU and UM. UM had many problems last year on and off the field. Will Coach Rod turn things around on the field along with the problems of practice times and other off field problems with players and support from some boosters.
OSU needs to improve on last year and make themselves the best option to these players. With all the home games OSU has they need to impress the recruits with their onfield play as well as game day activities.
Both schools have opportunities and now need to show the players on the field they can and will have a chance to compete for a BCS championship during the players stay at either school.

I am a little confused about what you are talking about with off the field issues with Michigan? The results of the time logs are already out. No major infractions and they fired a compliance guy.

The problem is the Free Press, not boosters. I agree though, this is put up or shut up for Rich Rod.

Some of the off field problems went along with the scheduling trouble when it was being investigated. Where different players from the past brought up things. Also the players who left the program. It may have been nothing and was just people come out when a problem is there. The practice times were talked about before games on National Tv. Somethings tend to stick in peoples minds even if it is not right. If something even small comes up will the band wagon media try to make more out of it. Or if they lose games and people look for all kinds of excuses.

I do remember that you said last year that there was a group of influential boosters who were not happy at all. Winning will help and losing will just get the boosters who are not impressed yet by Coach Rod to push to get rid of him.

Yea boosters tend to get pissed when you go 3-9 and 5-7. Nothing huge though. Boosters will run him out of town if he has another losing season.

You win and people forget, but he HAS to win NOW!

I would say the ncaa will not take Michigans violation of practicing rules too lightly. Could be another tough year for Rich Rod. He still doesnt have a proven QB to run his offense.

I think RR has to win at least 7, beat two out of 3 rivals, and win a bowl game imo.

Did anyone actually read the alligations (not violations)? Michigan has 90 days to respond and they basically already have. They did not keep up with CARA files (summer participation logs), they went over 20-30 minutes on Sundays because of stretching is kind of but not really a voluntary act by players, and there were some quality control in meetings during the summer. Michigan said to that they have fired the compliance guy who was supposed to be responsible for the CARA forms, they have caught them up and submited them to the NCAA, they no longer allow QC in meetings, and will probably self-punish or otherwise do nothing because the damge is done. I am willing to be that nothing will come out of this.

The Free Press is going to look very stupid because they alleged that Michigan was going well over the 20 hours per week, and it came down to them going over 30 minutes because of stretching that may or may not be allowed.
