Butler vs Duke / Championship

Who do think will win the National championship? I would love to see butler win it, but the way Duke has been playing lately, it will be a large order to fill.

How many times are they going to allow Zubek to throw someone to the ground while he going for the rebound? He should have fouled of this game a long time ago. Pathetic officiating!!

Unbelievable!!! Heyward was fouled on the last shot by Zubek and no call. Not only that but Plumlee basically just threw Howard out of the way to clear out for the rebound. It was obvious who the officials wanted to win. Zubek should have fouled out halfway thought the 2nd half.

Duke wins the National Championship 61-59. Would have loved to Hayward's shot go there at the end...It was so close! Duke didn't deserve this win IMHO. Tough game for anyone to lose...Congrats to Butler on a remarkable season!

I was cheering for Butler all the way - I'm so sorry they lost [but I'm not hugely "anti-Duke" either]. What a great/exciting game! i just wish West Virginia had managed to play that well against Duke and knock them out then!

No one but diehard Duke fans will remember this as a true championship team. Butler played its tail off, but missed free throws in the first half, a cold spell in the second, and the fact the Bulldogs couldn't get a call spelled the end of a Cinderella story. Too bad for Butler. The 'Dogs return the entire team so they'll make another run in '11.

First time in years we did not watch the game. We are HUGE ANTI-DUKE fans in this house and I figured the refs would let Duke do whatever they wanted which by the texts my brother was sending me and from Burg_Grad_77 posts it sounded like they did.
I did turn it on at halftime to see my Buckeye Evan Turner get the Naismith Award.

I did turn it back on and there was 5 seconds left. Sure looked like it was going in for the win for Butler. Glad to see Duke didn't get a cake walk in this game.

Typical Duke win with help from the guys in black and white.I cannot understand what 3 guys are looking at each time Duke went over the back on a rebound. how about Zoubek throwing people to the ground. Coach K needs to send each commitee member a special Thank You for handing him a national championship. What a great effort by Butler.

Duke is a hell of a TEAM. #1 thing they are a repeat great TEAM. If you want high flying dunks then go watch NBA.

Duke is not fun to watch because they do things right? They execute, don't hurt themselves, are well coached, play hard, are smart, bust their butts, and don't give in to the one and done players.

People on this site amaze me. You would rather see a team full of athletes who are not good basketball players go at it because you want to see dunks. You watched what is imo one of the best finals I have ever seen. Two very good basketball programs going at it.

Because Coach K does it right people hate him now? All you people that preach team team team, and then hate on a team that is actually a team.

Yea no one will think Duke's NC is worth anything because the other top seeds forgot to wake up and take every game serious. It is not anyone's fault but Kansas, Syracuse, UK, etc for what happened to them. Butler is not a quality win for some reason? They were preseason top 10, and have wins over Syracuse, KSU, MSU, etc.

Get over yourselves. That was a hell of a win and a hell of a game. Appreciate that Coach K does it right and does not recruit like someone in Lexington.

I love a coach that has their team playing basketball

Teams just don't practice and play enough basketball skills.
Stop the crap where you think you have to play above the rim to win.

You have to love Coach K--he teaches basketball the way it should be played

Both of these teams are made up of players who just go out and play the game hard. Along with these players not being more than the team unlike at some other schools. I think in this game both coaches coached their teams to get the most out of their players. That is why they made it to the championship game. With the way this game ended as close as it was why expand the tounament to add more teams? Great to have a close game instead of a blow out.

The refs kind of looked like some NBA games by letting players get knocked around during the game. No matter what both teams still did not shoot the ball well. Butler did come up just short on their last two shots. They had their chance to win the game.
