Pitt can't even win the Big Least title what makes anyone think they are gonna beat a good out of conference team!

The Buckeyes aren't going to be traveling to non-conference locationsSlim Jim wrote:Dublin, Utah has a pretty darn nice and big stadium! What kind of facilites do the Buckeyes or thier fans have to have for them to play a certain game? They play in dumps like Indiana's stadium.I know it's league but it's still a game to be played...
that hold less than 75,000.
They lose money doing so.
The Buckeyes have the largest athletic department in the country,
and have 35 other varsity sports to fund. For the past 3 years football is the ONLY
team that is turning a profit. They are funding an entire athletic department with
a budget over 100 million+, with football being the profit sport.
I could absolutly see them traveling to Dallas to play Utah or Boise or TCU,
but they won't ever be going to those schools campuses to play the game.

That was basicly a scrimmage where you could hit the QB.. Thats how I looked at it too. I don't take anything out of this game.. They worked on some things and got the second and third teams some work.Captain Cavalier wrote:So,trashing lowly Marshall makes the Buckeyes stonger??Orange and Brown wrote:Keep telling yourself that!Slim Jim wrote:At least Pitt and other bcs schools schedule games on the road to open the season like this..Do you think tosu would schedule an opener at Utah? Doubt it....Heck,in 2012 or 13 tosu only has four away games period...Kudos to Minnesota for playing at MTSU as well!! This game will only make the Panthers stronger..
Pitt has a bunch of Talent and a coach who doesn't know how to use it! Get a decent coach in there and Pitt would be a serious team.

I see your points Dublin...To add another Big Ten dump stadium to the mix,how about Northwestern? Wow! A few MAC schools might have a bigger and better venues.
Re: Opening Night Stunner, Utah knocks off #15 Pitt in OT
Slim Jim, Ohio State played Texas twice, USC twice and now have Miami for two years. I think these programs are a bit better then Utah. Ohio State has the second hardest schedule this year only bama has a tougher one. So your point makes no sense.

My old boss used to be a bartender in Bloomington, IN.Slim Jim wrote:I see your points Dublin...To add another Big Ten dump stadium to the mix,how about Northwestern? Wow! A few MAC schools might have a bigger and better venues.
They absolutly loved it business wise when the Buckeyes came to town.
They knew that they were bringing at least 30,000 ticket holders with them,
and with the "short" drive, usually a couple thousand more fans just to drink.
Nobody in the conference travels like the Buckeyes...
...Nebraska will give us a run though.
Indiana and Northwestern play in front of more Buckeye fans than home fans when they come to those schools.
It's great!!!

Lets all bow down to OSU...
The second toughest schedule in the country??? That's a laugher.

Congratulations on playing one BCS non conference game per year. Everyone does that and more. Miami??? They are getting better but have not been relevant since they left the Big East. Utah has been much stronger program over those years.Charge wrote:Slim Jim, Ohio State played Texas twice, USC twice and now have Miami for two years. It was non-OSU fans who brought OSU up.Raiderball wrote:Lets all bow down to OSU...

ESPN has rated the Buckeyes as the second toughest schedule of any top 10 team.
And, show me another Major Top-Level BCS school that is scheduling other Major Top Level
BCS schools every year.
You won't find WVU on that list.

Before I comment further, WHAT IS a major top level bcs school in your opinion?
Re: Opening Night Stunner, Utah knocks off #15 Pitt in OT
Raiderball, Ohio State plays Mia, Wis, Iow, Penn ST that is 4 teams in the top 25. Show me some teams that play any better schedule.
Re: Opening Night Stunner, Utah knocks off #15 Pitt in OT
Wow.....how does a Pitt loss to Utah turn in to a conversation about Ohio State?
It wasn't OSU fans on here hi-jacking the thread either. Did Pitt schedule a tougher first game...yes. Scheduling a game on the road against a good opponent and winning it is a totally different story though. This doesn't have anything to do with Ohio State or their victory over Marshall.

A school that is in a BCS conference that is at or very near the top of their conferecne,Raiderball wrote:Before I comment further, WHAT IS a major top level bcs school in your opinion?
year in and year out...
...and consistantly in the top 10 or 12 in the country.
Texas, Oklahoma, Bama, Florida, Ohio State, USC (pre-violations), LSU
close but not top level are teams like
Wisconsin, Iowa, WVU, FSU, Mimai, Oregon, Nebraska, Georgia, Pitt
Take away non-conference rivalry games too, because those are going to be scheduled and should.
I'm talking about teams that go out and look for a major toip level BCS program
to schedule for the non-conference, that they don't have any obligation through rivalry to schedule.

Ok... according to your list of top level BCS teams... OSU does not have one on their schedule this year (we are talking OOC, correct?) but WVU does.

dang. i hadda read all that to say go utes, shut mark mays da hell up, i'm lovin it. pitt falls out of top 25 now, i hope.
Re: Opening Night Stunner, Utah knocks off #15 Pitt in OT
I think an average Michigan team exposed the Big East this week. Pitt lost to Utah and Cincy lost. A long long year for a very weak conference.
