I love OU hockey, and try to catch a couple games each year. It is a very fun atmosphere!

Keep in mind though when talking sweeps and victories, they don't play the OSU varsity squad.

It's a club sport at OU, that is more entertaining and more successful than most of their varsity programs.

The Cats would still knock the crap out of OSU's "Varsity" Hockey team!

Listen, Mt Union is a great football team too, but they would lose by 100 if they had to play top level programs.

OU us a great club team, and like I said, I a huge fan of the program, but even the best apples don't compare with oranges.

OSU hockey isn't bad but it isn't that great either.

No, I realize the difference between top level club hockey, and a decent varsity program.

If you want to watch really competetive hockey Penn State is the matchup you want to see. Saturday is always better than Friday because they don't have to worry about sitting out the next night if they get tossed. :122245

There you go 91Buckeye.....just had to throw out more ammunition for debate! lol

OU would beat OSU's Varsity team, the Bobcats are very impressive even if they are a Club team.

If you want to see OUr Bobcats skate against Penn State you will need to come January 7th or 8th as PS will become a varsity level sport for them next year and i understand they will not be coming here any longer. We will go there to skate for 1 game. Players do have to sit out the next game whenever that is if they are ejected for fighting. Hope to see you all there for all Bobcat hockey games.

It was right out of Slap Shot, and I kept looking for the Hansen brothers
The Hansen brother comment made me laugh! So, did OU hold their own with their fist?

Best melee ever had to be against West Virginia, even the goalies were fighting at center ice. Don't think they have played since.

Yeah, OU top notch club...

If OU players were good enough, they'd go to OSU and get scholarships though... That being said, OSU is still a ways behind Miami OH for top program in the state... On a good night, OU could hang with BG, but even that might be a stretch

gahs4ever wrote:Ive been talking to a few posters on the pro forum (hockey fans) about maybe a group of us going to Athens this winter to watch the Bobcat hockey team. They have long had a successful program there, and I like the up close atmosphere of the cozy confines of Bird Arena.

Tentative plans call for going to the Saturday evening game of Jan 8 against Penn State.

The Cats are currently on an 11 game winning streak (outscoring opponents 66-24 in that span) and are 17-3-2 on the season.

Teams they have swept thus far include OSU, Miami, Iowa State, Illinois, a 1-0-1 series AT Penn St among others.

Is this still on GAHS?

Last night Buckeyes beat the Redhawks 1-0, behind a 40 save performance from our goalie!
Game 2 tonight.

Ohio U 5 Penn St 2 - saturday night final.

Went to the game and had a great time. Bird Arena was packed.

There was about 20 people there from Belpre who came up for the game.

Michael Shultz had a hat trick for the Cats! I believe tha Cats are now 19-3. Several more weekend series still to be played at the Bird.

LETS GO CATS!!!
