The Buckeyes suffer another defeat in conference play.
OSU didn't look in sink in my opinion and Purdue's Moore was hot from the field as he poured in 38 points. He was also 7-10 from the three point line and pretty much scored at will. The cold shooting and turn-overs for the Buckeyes were hard to watch at times. I hope they get this sorted out before tourney time!
The Buckeyes were 18 of 47 from the field (4-15 from the 3 point line) for 38.3 % and 23 of 29 from the charity stripe for 79.3 %.
Purdue was 28 of 55 from the field (7 of 20 from the 3 point line) for 50.9 % and 13 of 18 from the charity stripe for 72.2 %.

Offensively Purdue was not good at all, with the line exception of an outstanding game from Moore.
Purdue kept OSU from getting open shots and finding a rhythm, by extending their defense to about 5 feet past the 3 point line. They kept a man on Diebler to keep him from getting an easy open look, and they treated Sully like the victim of a prison shower scene.
OSU could adjust to what Purdue was doing defensively, and they didnt have a guy who could guard E'Twan Moore.
As bad as the final looked, OSU was in it very late, but Moore iced the game. Very fitting, since he was all Purdue had.
CBSsports still has OSU as #1, and they are still at worst a top 5 team, but they have been shown their weakness and must find a way to neutralize it before the games count.

I think Sullinger has actually been treated worse since Matta stated after the game a few weeks ago that the refs need to do a better job keeping people off him. They are draped all over him like a Superman cape and no fouls called. You cant possibly have 3 defenders reaching in for the steal down low and all three not getting hands on his arms.seofan_via_dublin wrote:Offensively Purdue was not good at all, with the line exception of an outstanding game from Moore.

In the Big Ten, when a team gets a hot hand they can beat any other team.
I still think Lauderdale is not a presence inside and should only come in the game when Sullinger gets into early foul trouble, or to give him quick break. Purdue pushed him around like a 10 yr old on most rebounding opportunities. The guy is as big as a truck and only got 2 rebounds, and scored zero points.
Lighty tries to do to much and turns the ball over. He also struggles from the free throw line.
Compounding all of the above, it would hard to beat any halfway decent Big Ten team with that performance.
