Michigan 42 Ohio State 27 Saturday November 27, 2021
This is the 117th edition of The Game as the Buckeyes travel to Ann Arbor. Michigan leads the all time series at 58-51-6 with one game vacated in 2010.Ohio State however has won eight straight and 17 of the last 19 meetings. Last years contest was not played because of the pandemic.
The Big 10 East Division crown is at stake along with the right to play in the Big 10 Conference Championship Game the following week. The victor also stays in the hunt for a College Football Playoff berth while the loser will have to settle for a possible spot in the Rose Bowl.
The matchup will feature Ohio State's number one ranked offense against Michigan's ninth ranked defense.
Harbaugh's crew will need to get consistent pressure on OSU QB CJ Stroud and hold the Bucks to field goal tries in the red zone. Expect Michigan to use stunts and blitz packages to confuse and slow down the Buckeye machine. UM's defense is anchored by edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson and linebacker David Ojabo.
The Wolverine offense will need to compliment their defense by controlling time of possession with QB Cade McNamara, RB Hassin Haskins, and WR Donovan Edwards behind a stout offensive line. Expect the Wolves to attack OSU straight ahead and over the middle with play action and misdirection. Michigan will also not hesitate to try trick plays to gain an edge on the Buckeye defense.
The game will boil down to Ohio State's elite offense versus Michigan's elite defense, and of course which team can capitalize on mistakes.
I am old. I remember many Buckeye seasons being destroyed by the Blue. I will be quite pleased with a OSU victory by any margin, say 31-27. Conversly, it would not be shocking if the football deities demand their pound of flesh for OSU's recent dominance and reward Michigan with a win.
The Buckeyes open as 7 point favorites in the 12:00 contest on Fox. Game Day will be in Ann Arbor for the pregame coverage.

I agree Omega.
Bichigan has a very good pass defense. Top 10 if not mistaken. I do recall that teams average only 5.4 yards per completion.
The Aardvarks of Ann Arbor (c'mon @9.5 INCHES ) are quite good this year as are the Bucknuts (@9.5 INCHES would love that).
This game could very well go either way. If this is an OSU blowout...I will eat that crow with burnt rice and lumpy brown gravy
And the Aardvarks could wind up victorious. The team with the fewest mistakes will win this game. As Coach Bowden used to say...."If we have the ball they can't score".
Gonna be a fun 3 days of college football !!! Will open the GameDay thread on Thanksgiving.

38-24 OSU. And I'll be there in attendance
I'm not sold on scUM's ability to effectively throw the ball. If that's the case and they are more one deminaional, it's a blowout. If the OSU Oline protects Stroud like they did against MSU, blowout. Stroud has so many weapons that given time in the pocket he will pick their defense apart.
We heard the talk about scUM's defense before. Time to see what happens when the rubber hits the road. Expect OSU to again match up Olave, Wilson and JSN up with their LBs on crossing routes in space like they have the last 3 meetings.

Lot of the OSU websites have the usual hard core fans claiming the Bucks will win by 20+ points, but there is an sizeable number saying the game will be won by 7 points or less and not necessarily by State. The doubt centers on CJ Stroud not yet having demonstrated that he has the leadership to to put the team on his shoulders and lead OSU to victory under adverse conditions. He did not pass that test against Oregon and he struggled in the red zone against Penn State and Nebraska. Stroud has the golden arm like Dwayne Haskins but does he have the toughness of JT Barrett or Justin Fields? I think he does, but he will have to prove it Saturday.OHHS old timer wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 10:35 pm I agree Omega.

TTUN pass defense is ranked 8th. Rush defense not so good at 30. Henderson might have a field day! Pass rush will be the key to the game assuming Henderson and Williams don't run wild on them for the TTUN defense. Almost every game Stroud has had all day to sit back there and look around. I want to see how he handles lots of pressure and quick decisions. Either way I don't think it will matter and this will be another easy win. TTUN over ranked again. Jimmy's hot seat will really heat up after Saturday.

Bring home a win for me BR. I made that trip in 69 and 73. I am 0-1-1 in the Big House.

I went to the Big House in 1991 when FSU played there..
Of course we were in nose bleed seats but left very happy...51-31 was the final. We were the first to hang 50 on the Aardvarks at home.
A piece of sod is in our Sod Cemetary...so is sod from the Horseshoe.

Game day approaches and the point spread favoring Ohio State has shrunk to as low as four points at some sports books. Does Vegas know something we do not or are they just balancing their tote sheets to guarantee a profit? Even some pundits who usually are pro Ohio State like Joel Klatt are saying Michigan has a chance due to their defense and ability to run the ball.

Nice looking semi, 9.5. Did you ever get that big D-9 Dozer running well? Gonna have to kinda be on your side a tad. Michigan might have a chance at home in The Big poop house. I'm a betting man, so I still will say Bucks by 10.

Bolt, you ought to send this to SC. But, that might get him started, if you know what I mean. You will be riding around before the game ends on Hard road, and won't get home till 1 AM.

I'm in Ann Arbor. It's unbelievable how many OSU fans were still the restaurant we ate at last night. Same thing at Cabelas in Dundee.
OSU take over in the Big House tomorrow! GO BUCKS

Likely 20,000+ TOSU fans will be in attendance. I remember back in the day the crowd @ TSUN was not really rowdy but the bowl amplified what sound there was. Like in Columbus, I would imagine a lot of the crowd in Ann Arbor will be the blue hair down in front crowd.Bleeding Red wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 6:26 am I'm in Ann Arbor. Some key backups will be unavailable to play:
Palaie Gaoteote, Sevyn Banks, and Master Teauge. Plus State has only one back up QB with any real game experience if Stroud goes down.

Pretty much had a feeling it was going to happen. Michigan was do. Credit to Michigan. They looked well prepared. Their O line was a strong unit for sure on the win.
