Angle transfers

Post by Paladin »

Youngstown St. has announced that former Logan QB Patrick Angle will transfer. No word on where he'll transfer to. Angle has 2 years of playing time left.

I think he would fit nicely at Denison.

Too much talent not to be playing. I thought that he might leave a year ago. Real good QB that should be leading a team somewhere.

Story I hear is his Dad wanted him to transfer last year. He played sparingly as the backup the last two years behind YSU 's starter from Dayton Chaminade who has rewritten all the passing records at YSU and still has one more season to play. Then add in YSU has recruited several high profile QBs every year since Angle came to YSU. Very highly competitive situation. Two years ago it was a QB from W. Pa. Last year it was Walsh Jesuit's QB. This class they added the QB from MIddletown Fenwick who formerly played at Cincinnati Moeller. And I hear there is a QB transferring in from Bowling Green. He simply got to YSU with a record setting QB just a year ahead of him. Talented enough to play here. But can't beat out the starter.

Several years ago the rumor was Otterbein wanted him bad and said there would always be a place for him if he wanted to transfer. His older brother played for Otterbein.. That's a long drop to D-III from D-I as I'd think he'd play D-II ball as he'd be eligible immediately on a transfer & not have to sit out. Anyone from Logan here knows where he lands let us know.

The unconfirmed rumor up here now has Angle transferring to D-III Ohio Northern.

No Mays is not at Otterbein anymore, glad to hear Pat is going to a place were he has a chance to play right away, too much talent to not to start

Info I have is that Angle has already transferred to Ohio Northern. Not Otterbein. The Polar Bears were weak at QB, fielding a losing team last year.

I would be shocked if he didn't. ONU has two QBs from Florida returning . Both are under 6' and neither has a strong arm. Both lettered. Also a skinny 6'4 kid from Ohio and he didn't play last year. Angle has talent better than the D-III level. In fact, if Angle hadn't had a record setting QB from Dayton Chaminade ahead of him, he would have been starting at D-I YSU. If they have an OL and some WRs, ONU will make a turn around quick.

There is a Logan connection already at Ohio Northern. Cary MacLaughlin , DL, former Logan player, is a 3 year letterman for the Polar Bears
